I used to check the front page at least once every day, and occassionally check specific subreddits. Oh, yeah, I googled, sorry, not a native English speaker. Yeah, we call it differently, but most definitely yes. I don’t even wear jeans cloth at all, I almost exclusevly wear baggy pants from twill… or linen ones in the summer.
Instead of focusing too much on all of the things that are currently wrong, could you please help paint a picture of what a future utopian society could look like?...
Mine consides with yours, except it’s a bit more techy. We’d still need someone to grow food for everyone on the planet, and that’s where robots come in… and for everything else that is just tedious or repetitive to do. We’d also need central coordination regarding things like solar panel control, or nuclear power plant control, so a central AI will most probably dominate on all devices.
There is no currency, we have an advanced socialist society. We don’t have polititians, we have “shamans” (people that guide the rest and keep the social piece, as well as uphold the values of the society). These people are not chosen by elections, they’re groomed from youngsters to be leaders and embedded with the values this society upholds the most. Of course, they’re carefully screened and chosen, based on certain tests that all children have to take, and scored on that (compassion and other highly valued human traits that are considered weaknesses in today’s society, leadership skills, etc.).
Do you like a tactile click? Are you a sucker for screws? Or something you can put in any direction? Maybe it's yours or another country's power plugs?...
I’m male aged 19-22, I have an older brother about 4-5 years older (giving age ranges for better anonymity). Relationship is… not good (read: it’s terrible, horrifyingly terrible, arch-nemesis). How about you?
I have a little sister (not so little any more, she’s 33, I’m 38) and I fuckin’ hate her guts. We don’t talk, I have her on block. She’s nuts and that’s about all there is to it.
I have contributed to a ton of (free) information that was helpful and didn’t have the heart to delete all my posts that I spent days/months doing. Is there an easy way to bring all those over here?
Well, you could ask the lemmy repost bot to make reposts of all of the subs you’ve posted here, on Lemmy, but ot only takes posts from today and maybe a few days back, reposts them here, and than just carries on reposting from that point on. It doesn’t actually repost retroactively.
Though you could probably speak to the dev that actually runs that instance, maybe he can make a bot mod that does the same, but with users and does it retroactively. It’s worth a shot IMO 🤷.
What I've done is take a large 2n3055 BJT NPN power transistor, and decap it (it is a large metal-can type). Then I carefully removed any coating from the exposed silicon (it typically has a dab of silicone potting compound on it)....
Hm… don’t know why that happens, never made a particle detector, but I have modded TO-3 cased transistors to be photodectors, they usually worked great.
Since I never understood op-amps from reading or practicing problems I wanted to build a circuit to probe around and use different resistor values to set the amplification....
Well, you should get 10V. You input 5V, the voltage gain is 2, so the output should be 10V. I don’t see a problem here, the circuit is working as expected.
Use a single power suppy (GND and +12V) and tie the Arduino’s GND with that GND.
Your circuit fails because the Arduino’s GND is tied to the -12V from the dual power supply, so the +5V that the Arduino outputs equal to -7V on the non-inverting input. Since this is a non-invering schematic, the opamp doesn’t invert the signal. Instead, it tries to double the -7V to get -14 on the Out, but since you’re powering the opamp with -12V, it can’t achieve a voltage that low, so it outputs the maximum it can give: -12V.
The LED turning on even when there’s no signal on the non-inverting input is probably a floating input problem. It picks up EMI so it just amplifies that. Try connecting the non-inverting input to GND, the LED should turn off… that or you burnt one of the opamps, lol, try the other one in the package.

My major struggle with Lemmy right now is that it is near impossible to post a video/gif/mp4 without having another account on a hosting provider. Reddit handled this very well, and I am concerned that if there isn’t an easy solution on Lemmy, it won’t work for many people as an alternative to Reddit....

Is there an easy way to bring all my old technical posts from Reddit to Lemmy?
