Sure it’s cheaper but it’s not as good… :)

I guess they are a signal of disapproval, but its better to be honest and say what you think then to try and get liked in every post.

4k monitors are awesome, you will never go back. Icons are sharp and looks almost as good as on mac OS.

I'm so frustrated rn.

I have been distro hopping for about 2 weeks now, there’s always something that doesn’t work. I thought I would stick with Debian and now I haven’t been able to make my printer work in it, I think I tried in another distro and it just worked out of the box, but there’s always something that’s broken in every distro....

I mean, people say that, but for me it wasn’t a problem, I just picked one when I got started. Didn’t feel like a major decision since you can just switch again if you are unhappy.

Shit, that’s sound like a really cool class… Hope they enjoy it. :)

I don’t know which people you are listening to, but Debian does not have newer packages than arch. It has older packages than almost all other distros. You can see this on distrowatch for yourself also.

The idea of Debian is that old = stable, which I don’t agree with personally. As an example, users of Debian are reporting tons of KDE Plasma bugs that was already fixed, but because they are running an ancient version, they still have the bugs.

But it depends. It’s correct that new versions of plasma had new bugs, that was fixed in the coming weeks or months.

I guess a better way of describing Debian is that it has old bugs instead of new ones, since it stays on older versions.

Yeah all I see is 14 huge failures. :)

Linux version 6 is a bit of a stretch though since it’s just the kernel. I guess they could have put Ubuntu 23 up there to make it “win”…

Yeah I actually don’t understand why it’s egotistical to think sex work is not like a normal job. Seems perfectly natural to me.

Why do you think it is egotistical? Maybe if you explain, I will see the errors of my thinking.

Ok that doesn’t sound like a good job, but how is that an argument that sex work is just like any other job? Have you ever had a good job? I hope you have, so you know the difference.

Because nobody wants to have sex with ugly people, or people you despise, and who treat you like shit.

That’s the simplest way I can express it.

Yeah dot files are config files, and usually apps have one. And yes, you would have to explore each program to see what the settings do.

You picked Debian now, just be aware that all software is very old and when you read docs for programs, you probably have to read about older versions instead of the current one.

Yes it’s going to transform everything. It’s about the same as the transformation from typewriter to computer for society. But I still don’t think any machine that predicts the next word is intelligent. However, this is only the beginning. We are not going to be able to keep up with AI soon, and it will work around the clock to get better and better.

We will have those high tech societies from the movies where robots are everywhere and people are quite sad.

I’m sick but I will do it when I recover. Need to get started with exercise again.

Oh OK. Yes it’s on every app developers roadmap. :)

Yeah but they wanted to run it in production to make sure there aren’t weird bugs that only shows in production I guess.

Stuff like complex federation bugs occurring during certain conditions, things that are hard to see in a test environment.

This version is only on Lemmy.ml now so doesn’t really affect most of us… :)

Good thing there are hundreds of other instances. This a solved problem with Lemmy.

No need to even complain about it. You have choice here.

The largest instances are going to be like reddit, yes.

Yeah once you get used to that… It’s impossible to go back. :) It also keeps everything updated automatically.
