you forgot the part where Steve Harvey, in the anguished tones of a man who has crossed hell and is delivering one final message, screams to the stage directors
Ext4 is a filesystem. That is the part of the kernel that actually stores and retrieves the files on disk. What program are you using to browse files? It’s a bit hard to tell from this screenshot what program it’s a screenshot of, but it looks like Nautilus (the default file browser in GNOME). Is that it?
Does anybody know why dbus exists? I’ve been wracking my brain trying to come up with a usecase for dbus that isn’t already covered by Unix sockets....
It occurs to me that sendmsg() is already kind of a standard, and the problem of drop in replacements could be solved by just making the replacement bind to the same file path and emulate the same protocol, and the problem of automatically starting the daemon could be handled by a systemd socket (or even inetd if you wanna go old school). The only advantage that I can see dbus really having over Unix sockets is allowing multiple programs to respond to the same message, which is a definite advantage but AFAIK not many things take advantage of that.
I often search for things with plenty of results on any other search engine and get one or (more commonly) zero results from Startpage. I remember they used to be a proxy for Google. I’m no longer convinced they are.
None of the documentaries from GCN+, which is Global Cycling Network’s streaming app, are on my usual torrent sites. I’m not a cool warez kiddy with access to niche private trackers. Is it possible that there are no webrips out there? Do they watermark somehow?
“See we should all just come together and agree to believe what I believe. You should just accept that sometimes you’re wrong, even though I haven’t presented any evidence. If we agreed, we wouldn’t be fighting; therefore the charitable thing for you to do is to cause us to agree by changing your opinion to match mine”
Companies pay big bucks for timed exclusivity though. If reverse timeshifting was legal, movie theaters would go bankrupt. I feel like this wouldn’t hold up.
I do not know how to explain to you that there can be no compromise between someone who wants to do or be a thing and a person who wants to make doing/being that thing illegal
^^^^actually when you poisoned the water supply we discovered that the city’s pipe infrastructure is really severely outdated, so thank you for bringing that to our attention to that. milliomns of people have gotten really sick over the last few years.
secondly becausw you snuck past the security cameras so easily, we discovered that the funds for that security system were being embezzled by government officials, so you busted a major fraud ring.
and lastly the pathogen you unleashed does give people mild diharrea, but we found it’s also a great source of vitamin C which recent studies show residents have not been getting enough of. it’s also an effective probiotic that helps people fight off a particularly nasty virus that we’ve been trying to keep a handle on for some time now without much success. really can’t thank you enough
Firefox will occasionally act up if it’s updated in the background while it’s running. It detects this pretty quickly though and prompts you tobrestart thr browser when you open a new tab. That’s just about the only app I’ve had issues with though.
