most apps are just websites wrapped inside a container and made an app.
Why?
Because they dont want you to use the actual website.
why?
Cause your browser gives you a LOT of protection against invasive data mining/profiling/tracking/etc.(Not saying its perfect, We all know about fingerprinting and HTML5 canvas tracking and what have you…but its a LOT better than the information that apps can steal)
Data mining/profiling/tracking/etc that these companies want to do to you, because you are a product to them, not a customer.
And how do they do that with an app?
Permissions.
Ever wonder why your pizza ordering app has to have access to your contacts, data storage, camera, microphone, etc etc etc? Its not because its needed for you to order pizzas. Hell, you can do that on a website with no permissions, so why is it needed for an app on your phone?
So they can steal/mine your data for profiling/tracking/marketing/being sold to others/etc.
Do you mean bare bones no cash for big output cheap food?
or do you mean “I can swing a big initial output of money to save tons”?
If its the first one, find a dollar general with a fridge/frozen food section. You can make quite a few good, low intiail cost meals from what you can get from there.
if you mean “I can swing a big upfront payout to get a lot of stuff thats bargain barrel price per unit”, then buying a whole pig or cow and having it butchered is probably the best way to get a ton of meat, dollar per pound wise.
Yesterday I had a major “I am living in a movie and I’m the character everyone loves when bad things happens to them” vibes
Cause I woke up yesterday and a not insignificant chunk of my electonics were broken/nonfunctional… Some of them werent even plugged in, so its not like it was a power issue or something.
They were all bought at different times, from different stores, and different brands. The only thread tying them all together (and this is where the movie character shit kicks in) is that all their warranties expired within like 2 weeks of eachother, Which means they all just fell out of warranty.
The Few replies from the various companies I’ve gotten so far can be basically summed up as “1 day out of warranty is still out of warranty, go fuck yourself”
It sounds so ridiculous that even I don’t believe it, and I’m living it. Do they just put kill switches in stuff to make them die immediately after warranty now? Cause I sure as fuck feel like they do.
