AngryCommieKender,

Firefox doesn’t need extensions to handle the password and bookmark imports, it can do those automatically. I saw someone suggest you create a folder in your bookmarks that is your open tabs, bookmark each tab as you close them, import passwords and bookmarks, and open that folder for a relatively painless migration.

They’ll be in there somewhere. I was surprised by how many I hadn’t heard of.

I played that. Free game that came in the cereal box, and way better than I expected for an advertisement

I also had the NES Yo’ Noid game that Domino’s put out

We have absolutely enormous parking lots, and yeah, Americans are lazy and have an abundance of food. Maybe not more inconsiderate, but Hanlon’s Razor comes into play here. If you don’t believe me, just go to any Golden Corral. There absolutely will be multiple families in there where every single person weighs over 250 pounds, even the 8 year old kid.

I remember a girl in highschool that was an exchange student from Botswana(?) was a bit upset that she was too fat to go home after living here for a school year. She’d gained like maybe 5 pounds. As far as all us Americans were concerned she finally didn’t look anorexic.

My brothers and I would run around the parking lots gathering up all the carts rather than go into the store. This was especially fun at Aldi’s cause we got a quarter for each cart, and could get some candy.

AngryCommieKender,

I don’t see a stuffed animal?

AngryCommieKender,

Gotcha, thanks for the explanation. That’s pretty funny :)

Who TF is Luke Combs?

Also, wishing you good luck!

Is there an artist so horrible that no matter how hard you try that you cannot separate their art from them?

Similar to the recent question about artists where you can successfully separate them from their art. Are there any artists who did something so horrible, so despicable, that it has instantly invalidated all art that they have had any part in?

AngryCommieKender,

That’s an urban legend that started about Ron Jeremy.

What is Something Scientific that you just don't believe in at all?

EDIT: Let’s cool it with the downvotes, dudes. We’re not out to cut funding to your black hole detection chamber or revoke the degrees of chiropractors just because a couple of us don’t believe in it, okay? Chill out, participate with the prompt and continue with having a nice day. I’m sure almost everybody has something...

AngryCommieKender,

Chiropractors have degrees now? I could have sworn it was just a certificate back in the 90s…

AngryCommieKender,

Carbon capture through technology? Agreed.

Carbon capture through hemp subsidies, or even just legalized weed would be doable, but we’d have to get global adoption.

AngryCommieKender, (edited )

I did the math a while ago, and there’s a straightforward way we can solve this with hemp/cannabis/marijuana. It would take us 10 years to clean up the carbon we’ve released in the last.12,000 since we started smelting copper, but that requires 5,000,000,000 acres of constant hemp/* production with 4 harvests per year, and all the roots collected, compressed, and dumped into the Marianas trench. Once we did that, even at current emission levels we can cut back to 2,500,000,000 acres of production, and taper off as we manage to hit zero emissions. Effectively giving us a global “thermostat.”

Of course the problem here is that you’d need the buy in of almost every single country on Earth, but the plants can be used for food, fuel, clothing, paper, housing, concrete, and a lot of other things, so it could actually be a net profit to the global economy.

AngryCommieKender,

I’m a former chef, so I call cooking an art, and baking a science. The recipes need a lot more data in baking, so that everyone can follow the recipe and get consistent results. I can eyeball my shit everywhere else and get great results. I still use measuring spoons and cups for some recipes, but most of the time I’m just playing with ingredients, and adding by smell/taste.

AngryCommieKender,

There’s a second episode with 4 players. Hilarious.

AngryCommieKender,

Both those episodes were hilarious. Stalin was an awful leader, indirectly caused by Wilson.

AngryCommieKender,

Fun fact: qualified immunity is illegal according to the law as passed by Congress. The 1982 SCOTUS unintentionally legislated from the bench in Harlow V Fitzgerald

AngryCommieKender,

Well it did cause the first and largest mass extinction event so far…

AngryCommieKender,

What is this a reference to?

AngryCommieKender, (edited )

Considering that the oil companies bought up the trolley companies, and shut them down, I would argue that without those particular billionaires, we would still be building walkable cities the way we did for centuries, until they decided that cars should be essential, but a luxury at the same time.

Edit: this is specifically applicable to the US

AngryCommieKender, (edited )

Hemp/ Cannibis/ Marijuana are the best crops for carbon capture. Not only do they store 80%+ of the carbon in their roots, one acre of hemp will capture 10 times the amount of carbon as one acre of trees, provided the hemp is harvested at least once a year, and the roots are stored at the bottom of the ocean or something. You can harvest that acre up to 4 times a year in some parts of the world, and hemp can be used for food, fuel, clothing, rope, paper, shelter, concrete, and a ton of other stuff.

AngryCommieKender,

Do they have any investments in the oil sectors? And Musk is absolutely trying to keep cars and kill mass transit. He admitted it. Bezos definitely has invested in making our cities the unwalkable hell scape that the oil companies started.

AngryCommieKender,

I was joking. We wouldn’t be alive if that particular extinction even hadn’t happened.

AngryCommieKender, (edited )

Asterix. Doesn’t really matter which of the 30+ comics, or the 5 or 6 movies. No one knows Asterix in The US.

Also: Flight of The Navigator, The Last Unicorn, or The Last Starfighter
