But that doesn’t mean Israels solution of “kill them all and let god sort them out” is remotely acceptable.
I completely agree with you there. The whole situation is fucked up, and neither side is making any effort to take the high road. I get that the hamas doesn’t have that luxury, being underdog rebels and all, but it’s not like their goals are benevolent either. One of their stated goals is the complete destruction of Israel, and the Jews. Israel, being the well armed and well funded nation, should be taking steps to respond in an ethical manner, but they’re sinking to the goals of their enemies. Or maybe those were always their goals anyways, and the hamas attack gave them an excuse. I don’t pretend to be an expert on Israel Hamas relations. I just don’t think that Biden can be judged too harshly for not immediately yanking decades of history with Israel. For one, if the US stops supporting Israel, Israel will likely cease to exist shortly afterwards. Anyways, I’m going way off the original topic, so I apologize for that. The overall point I’m trying to make is that I agree with you, but acknowledge the complexity of the situation.
I wanted a new car anyways, and rates on car loans are way better than rates on credit cards or jewelry loans. How is using equity from paid-off assets being bad with money? She’s happy, I’m happy, and we’re doing well.
Thank you, and I agree. It’s interesting to me that the majority opinion on this site is that hoarding money is greedy and evil, yet those same people also refuse to spend it on any major life events. What good is our money to us if we can’t use it to make our loved ones feel appreciated, and our major life events special?
Even if I was evil, I’d never team up with someone like him, unless he could provide me with something that I couldn’t obtain without him. He’s incredibly selfish, arrogant, and condescending. I can’t see any evil -or even any good- character I play tolerating his banter, and demands. The only reason I didn’t kill him outright in the first playthrough was because he killed me when I tried. LOL. I just wasn’t powerful enough the first time through.
Evil isn’t about being a murder hobo, that’s more of a homicidal maniac than an evil character (although it’s still evil). A lot of times it’s about being completely selfish, and self absorbed, but also manipulative to get what you want. Some of the most successful people on the planet are evil, hell, possibly all of them. It feels like there should be other rewards for an evil path.
And some Twitter embeds with a little X logo in the top right meant to look like a close button, but it’s actually a link to the site. I swear, these internet billionaires have become rich with stupid little “tricks” that shouldn’t fool anyone, but apparently fool most people.
Whoops! I just deleted my original reply because I thought I was replying to another conversation I’m having about Jordan and Terry Goodkind.
The author I’m referring to is Robert Jordan, author of the Wheel of Time series. The warrior culture that Kvoth goes to live & train with in the 2nd book seem to be almost a direct copy of Robert Jordan’s Aeil from the Wheel of Time series. That said, Jordan inspired a lot of writers, including Brandon Sanderson. Sanderson was able to finish Jordan’s epic 14 book story, when Jordan’s health started failing and he reached out to Sanderson to take over the project. Sanderson wrote (I think) the last 2.5 books in the series.
That’s different than what my French friend brought over. Aren’t they usually quite bulkier? The ends on her chargers were large round bulky things, with the 3 narrow prongs sticking off. What she had also matched the European adapters I see sold at the electronics store here.
For funsies. Or because it will help you appreciate the words instead of resenting them. That’s why I did it. It’s just a suggestion though. You know what works for you.
My character this playthrough is a Bard, and I think he is probably the most powerful character I’ve played so far. He is excellent at everything except AOE spellcasting, and he’s even better at damage than a fighter or barbarian. I’m definitely rolling a bard next time I play D&D.
I envy people who can sleep to avoid things. My body’s response to stress is to deprive me of sleep until I fix things. It gets dicey when those things are outside of my control.
