I have at least 20 different devices that run some flavor of Linux. Servers, a laptop, TVs, AP/routers, probably more, if my other “smart” appliances run Linux also.

Do Android phones and tablets count towards Linux gaming?

PlayStations run a derivitive of BSD, maybe those should get honorable mention. ;)

AtmaJnana,

Yes. I’ve definitely seen it, but don’t remember which instance it’s on.

AtmaJnana,

It was like he was wearin’ a …Edgar suit

OP can’t use adaway or AFWall+ without root.

I’m in the same boat as OP (I have a device without root for the first time in a long time) and I miss both apps. I do use a pihole+VPN for what adaway does. But there’s no real replacement for AFWall/iptables without root. As pointed out, though, you can block individual apps in some modern versions of android. Fortunately, I have that.

How do I reduce the squeaking of my faux leather sofa?

I’ve got a (faux) leather sofa (not sure how to tell difference). Sitting on it or moving around makes the leather rub together and squeak a LOT. It wouldn’t bother me but I live in an upstairs flat so I get paranoid if it’s late at night and I move on the sofa it’s “CREEESQUEEEEEEEUUUURRRR”....

AtmaJnana,

I mean… as someone who (many moons ago) won a golden horseshoe for my knowledge of WV: both of those geographic features are also partially located in West Virginia.

I use Brave to test whether my websites work on Chromium browsers, but their scummy actions lately make me want to find a new Chromium browser to test with. What's the best Chromium based browser?

I already use Firefox for browsing normally, but I have to test on a Chromium based browser too. One soft requirement is that it should be installable with Flatpak on Linux.

AtmaJnana,

No, they report to Bing. It caused a stink when “discovered” by the media, but it is part of their licensing agreement with Microsoft to use Bing results.

Their search is fine, but don’t use their browser.

AtmaJnana,

Not everyone has to, though. I use one instance for a wide variety of resolutions, depending on the show and consumption model; including 360,480,720,1080, 2160 (HDR/10-bit). But I run Plex on a box with quicksync that is doing my transcoding for me.

So why have you chosen to run different instances?

AtmaJnana,

most? citation needed. I’m 35 minutes from the nearest mall and I’m not even that rural. maybe you live on the east coast where things are more dense.

AtmaJnana,

Oh that would make sense. I’m in the Midwestern US and mostly we just have strip malls and regular shops (and Walmart of course) in our town of 13K. Malls around here are only found in the larger towns of ~50K or more.

AtmaJnana,

Nice. I need a new peeler soon and most of my best knives are Victorinox. Their paring knives are pretty well made as well.
