I use a combo of OneNote (it’s pretty easy to put entire pages in OneNote, even from a mobile device) and Joplin. Obsidian works well too.
What’s nice is all of them can take the full page, so it looks nearly identical to the website.
Alternatively you can use reader mode in the browser, and send that to OneNote/Joplin, or send the link to archive.ph and save the archived version.
Saving the full page enables search to work.
Edit: forgot about your pocket url issue. Well both Joplin and OneNote save the url with the page info. Not sure how well Pocket utilizes pages archived on archive.ph. May need some testing.
Nah, this is Haier trying to save face. They saw how the story went, that the repo was forked a thousand times in a few hours. They know their engineering team can’t win, long term, against dedicated, pissed off geeks.
Would they play nice with you if the tables were reversed? No.
They already played the legal card, engaging with them at this point would be extremely naive.
Fuck them. Now is the time to pummel them even harder. Making them eat their words is what will send a message to the rest of the jackasses designing garbage and tracking us relentlessly for access to what should be trivial to engineer features.
Sure. They won’t be able to access the data itself, but they’ll have already used the data as it was being generated to add metrics to your profile. So they don’t need it anymore if it’s already been utilized.
Liars always find a way to phrase things to misdirect.
Keep in mind that RCS is still SMS to anyone without Google Messages.
Also, the encryption in RCS is problematic - last time I read how it worked I wasn’t convinced it was as secure as advertised (I don’t recall why, but I think it’s because it’s not really E2E).
You’re trading your own feelings for your kid’s long-term well-being and learning. Many people would take the easy approach because your way is “scary”. Bravery is doing what needs to be done even if you’re afraid.
I’d call that right and proper. It’s what we adults are supposed to do. The number of times I’ve carried a crying infant to get them settled down while I could barely walk from excruciating back pain… It’s our job to take that on.
It’s funny, many of those parents who are tracking their kids would probably say “I sacrifice every day by working long hours so my kids have a warm, safe home” without realizing that giving them a long leash is also a sacrifice of parent’s (willingly take on worry) so kids grow up well.
My current file server, an old gaming rig, consumes 100w at idle.
I’m considering a TrueNAS box running either 2.5" ssd’s or NVME sticks (My storage target is under 8TB, and that’s including 3 years projected growth).
