When I didn’t have health insurance and needed a cane to walk I would play this game with shitheads that drove up into the crosswalk. Do it, mfer, my spine is more expensive than your car.

PSA: sadly GC2b has had real quality issues for a few years now. Their binders used to be good quality, but people have been having issues with them falling apart quickly or being sized incorrectly, having trouble with getting them to fulfill exchanges, etc.
I had top surgery years ago so I can’t give recent personal recommendations, but as far as I know Shapeshifters and Underworks are still considered good quality.
Or as some of us on the spectrum call it: the overstimulation aisle!
I respect your preference but live in fear of it. I have to walk briskly down that aisle, I’m pretty sure I would actually have a mental breakdown if my house was that bright, lol.
The puzzling depiction of a vicious predator — either a dragon or a snake — devouring a frog on an early medieval belt buckle from the Czech Republic may be a symbol from an unknown pagan cult, archaeologists say....
They say devouring a frog, I say biting a dude’s nuts off.
For real though, what a neat buckle. Since they think it was related to an unknown pagan cult, I wonder what the purpose of wearing the symbol on the belt was? For others to see you were part of the cult (assuming it was worn visibly)?
Extremely dishonest to leave out the fact that all numbers provided by Gaza’s Ministry of Health has consistently matched very closely with Israel’s death counts in the past, and Israel just happens to have completely blocked access to Gaza for outside agencies to do independent counts.
Wow, isn’t that convenient! Guess there’s no choice other than to assume the thousands of children blown to pieces are lies made up to make it harder for Israel to defend itself by flattening over 70% of homes in Gaza, along with reporters and refugee camps.
We’re talking about a vacation this summer so we can plan ahead. My mother (who will pay for it) said she’d love to go to Yellowstone, but it looks like it’s about a 24-hour drive for us. Still, I like the idea of going to a national park. We’re in Indiana, so this image shows about the limits of where we’re willing to...
I grew up going to the Great Smoky Mountains fairly regularly as a kid, my favorite was always to go to Chattanooga. It’s like a mid sized town in the middle of the Smokies, so it’s super easy to drive out into very rural natural areas during the day and drive back to the amenities of town at night. There’s also a lot of fascinating Civil War history in the area if anyone is a history buff.
The aquarium is great, and I’m a sucker for the incline railway and Rock City (featured prominently in American Gods). Rock City is technically in Georgia, but it’s a 15 minute drive away from Chattanooga so it might as well be right there.
If any of the kids are 8 or under they’d probably enjoy the Creative Discovery Museum. It’s a pity caves aren’t an option, because Ruby Falls is an underground waterfall in the area and very beautiful. The other thing we always did was either go horse riding or zip lining.
Oh, and if you see people selling fruit or veg on the side of the road with hand written signs, stop and buy it. It will be some of the best you’ve had. Same rule for boiled peanuts and apple butter.
The owner kind of makes a weak attempt to seem like they’re trying, but if I weren’t there, they wouldn’t intervene at all. I’m asking because I want to make sure that I don’t over react next time.
Hiring entirely cis male teams to work on projects doesn’t result in a better product. It is a fallacy to act like there’s something about being a cis man that makes them better at the job than any woman or trans worker at a similar skill level. And there are women and trans people at a similar skill level you can hire, no matter what the job is. It’s completely ridiculous to act like women and trans people are somehow able to perform at a lower level than cis men and keep their jobs/keep getting hired. It’s more like the opposite, women and trans people have to work twice as hard to be viewed as competent.
Frankly this all sounds like situations you are imagining and not how anything actually plays out in a workplace IRL, much less a creative workplace. With movie and show production it’s totally normal for people to have to sit and listen to criticisms and suggested changes to their work at least a couple of times a week, if not daily, because of the way production schedules work and how quickly things need to be revised. Anyone who started hollering racism over that would be blacklisted.

Having grown up in the rural deep south, this feels like more of a description of blue state Republicans than red state Republicans.
You can clearly see that plenty of states have Republicans that care about LGBT issues. In Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, and West Virginia, less than 1/3rd of Republicans think homosexuality should be accepted. And it’s not like all the other states are blowing them out of the water. A majority of Republicans/Republican leaners believe gay marriage being legal is somewhat or very bad for society. Less than half believe it is acceptable for gay people to raise children. And that’s not even touching trans issues.
The youtube channel Voices of the Past has a lot of readings of firsthand written accounts of first contacts, unusual voyages, etc for anyone interested in this kind of thing. It’s really fascinating to hear in their own words what they thought of these places, people, and of themselves.
Male lions hunt a lot more than previously thought, they just do it at night when it’s hard to observe it happening without special equipment.
Male lions only stay with a given pride for 2-3 years on average before getting kicked out, so every month the lionesses spend nursing another lion’s cubs reduces the amount of time he has to make his own cubs.

I think the poverty and lack of access to healthcare in some areas might be a bigger drag on life expectancy than cooking with butter, especially when a fair number of Italian dishes also include butter.
