Chetzemoka,

Oh I hadn’t even thought of that. I have two accounts because when I started using Boost for Lemmy, my home instance wasn’t supported, so I signed up for startrek.website.

My old account would appear to be an inactive user in the numbers, which is not really accurate. But also it means that bump in users that happened during the reddit exodus was partially driven by duplicate sign ups.

Chetzemoka,

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person on here who plays Hollow Knight. When I want to chill, I like to start a new game and just go through the early-mid game exploration phase. No pressure, skip bosses if I feel like it. Just run around and enjoy the atmosphere and music. Love it.

Chetzemoka,

I disagree with both your facts and your assessment.

Chetzemoka,

I’m a critical care nurse.

We do not dose based on gender. We dose based on height, weight, and individual response/tolerance of a medication. Nobody cares what’s in your pants when we’re giving you drugs. Definitely no one is taking your bone density into account. I literally just sent out the tiniest little old lady from our critical care unit yesterday on the highest dose of metoprolol I’ve ever seen in my life.

Stop lying. Trans rights are human rights. Gender affirming care is medical care. The medical community is clear on that point.

Chetzemoka,

No, they do not have different drug trials based on sex or gender. No, medication absolutely does not have different effects based on sex or gender. Hearts, lungs , kidneys, all work the same no matter what kind of reproductive organs you happen to possess.

We do not distinguish based on sex or gender when administering medications. We only account for body size and individual response/tolerance to a medication.

Chetzemoka,

I’m in my late 40s, single, own a house independently, responsible for all my own expenses.

I’ve definitely gotten way less conservative as I age. I don’t rage at paying taxes because I want my neighbors to have nice roads and schools and healthcare and food and food educations even if they’re poor, even if they’re immigrants. Because that’s what Jesus world want me to do with my money: provide for my neighbor.

Chetzemoka,

Not gonna lie, being a nurse during a pandemic with that jackass as president broke something in me

Chetzemoka,

Yeah that whole thing was glossed over. I don’t think it’s much of a spoiler, but it was the civil war that happened after the Supreme Intelligence was destroyed that decimated the environment. But no explanation how or why that led to the star being too dim. And the thing that was set up as the next big battle at the end of CM1 (destroying the Supreme Intelligence) happened off screen between the movies. It was just so frustrating

Chetzemoka,

My local theater is packed almost every night of the week. There were flocks of entire families with kids dressed up in costumes to see both Mario and Barbie. I traveled an hour to see Oppenheimer in proper IMAX and there wasn’t an empty seat in the house. Theaters definitely are not dead.

Chetzemoka, (edited )

I am also a huge Marvel fan and I saw it Thursday night in a packed theater. My opinion is that all the pieces of one of the best Marvel movies are there, and just weren’t put together properly. The leads have great chemistry, Iman Vellani is brilliant as always, the main plot point makes for unique and interesting fight scenes, and they let it get goofy in just the right ways (princesses and kittens, that’s all I’m saying.)

But the overall pacing of the entire movie is SO bad. It feels so rushed. None of the fun or poignant things that are legitimately good are allowed to hang around on screen long enough to sink in. There are important plot points that move so fast they leave you wondering what just happened. Which is so disappointing. I was really excited that this might be the one that finally got Marvel out of their pandemic-induced production problems. Instead it’s just another Marvel movie that I’ll only see once.

Chetzemoka,

The Marvels was poorly paced and I don’t know if that’s more the fault of the editing or the directing. But holy shit the individual pieces were so. good.

The interactions between the leads, the evolution of the fight scenes to integrate the problem and turn it into an advantage. Princesses and kittens are not my kind of deal, but they were absolutely perfect in this movie and I was thrilled to see them. Kamala Khan being a superhero with a normal, well-adjusted, loving family is one of my favorite things about her character.

My frustration and disappointment with this and with The Eternals is this had all the pieces to be a great Marvel movie, but the pieces didn’t get assembled properly somehow. I don’t know what changed about their production process, but if they can fix it, they still have good content to build great movies on. Haters bedamned.

Chetzemoka,

The secret ingredient is 🌈⭐ misogyny⭐🌈

Chetzemoka,

My understanding was this was the actual intended use case for NFTs. To allow you to properly own a digital item. The fact that it got applied to a stupid fad right out the gate doesn’t change the fact that it should actually be used to allow us to own things again.

Chetzemoka,

Nine Inch Nails. Why yes, I was in high school in the 90s, why do you ask?

Chetzemoka,

Oh, so it’s yet another one of those problems caused by that whole “let’s take this four legged mammal body plan and make it stand upright” thing. Thanks, evolution!

Chetzemoka,

I can’t tell you how often this ends old people’s lives. They start to aspirate food, get hospitalized for nasty pneumonia because of it, we try to feed them pureed food (essentially baby food all over again) and thicken their drinks, they struggle to stay hydrated and nourished because of it, they aspirate and end up in the hospital again. Rinse, repeat.

This is shockingly common. Evolution is a dick.

Chetzemoka,

Why would you ever remove twat? Twat is a great word, which I can only hear in Con O’Neill’s voice from Our Flag Means Death.

Chetzemoka,

I chose a deeper cut Expanse reference, but in truth I’m Avasarala in public, Naomi in my heart

Chetzemoka,

Chetzemoka,

Push and pull technique.

Push: bitter spray or cayenne pepper on plant leaves to discourage biting

Pull: cat grass and lots of cat toys. Seriously, buy more toys. Give them something else to focus on.

Chetzemoka,

I was gonna say, whoever made this has never dealt with an invasive ladybug swarm in their house before lol

Chetzemoka,

Sodium response is a lot more complicated than that, and a more accurate metric is probably dietary sodium:potassium ratio.

Chetzemoka,

I mean…

Textbook

Textbook

My actual Anatomy textbook is full of these weirdly sensual illustrations that are just… unnecessary.

Chetzemoka,

TNG photo bombing a team of Martian Marines from The Expanse. We’re doing Expanse crossovers now.

(I highly recommend watching The Expanse. It’s great.)
