I’m an engineer. I’m on my phone looking at memes until someone asks me a question, then I do a thing in 5 minutes that they expected to take 5 days because people don’t understand computers, then I go back to the memes.
FO4 has such a sudden start when you think about it. The game starts and the bombs almost immediately start falling and your spouse dies and son taken within like the first 10 minutes of the game.
Would have been cool if you started in the war wearing power armor, then came home to your family after facing the horrors of war, made your face, adapt back to normal life and get to know family and neighbors over a couple of time skips, then the bombs happen in the middle of one of those events. Grow some attachment like FO3 did.
I think I might cancel. I’m not watching ads and I’m not going to pay the extra $3/mo to opt out. I don’t know if I’d end up paying more than the subscription cost in shipping though…...
This is annectdotal but I twice tried branching out recently to other retailers, both times they said they delivered my package and they did not. Trying to get help from them is like pulling teeth.
I rarely have a problem with Amazon and the few times I did I was given a refund pretty much immediately.
It makes it hard to switch when the difference in service is so drastic =/
However I Am Legend is probably one of the first books to explain to explain vampires in a scientific rather than a magical way. In that it was psychological and they only hated religious symbols from the faith they had in life, and I believe that only applies to “undead” vampires and not living ones.
More importantly, are they a lifeforms that we would even recognize as alive? The chances of an alien being humanoid are even slimmer. Then there’s whether they develop intelligence, whether they care about space, and whether they survive long enough to get anywhere.
I think Dave Chapelle would not consider himself transphobic and as far as I know has never opposed transgender rights.
His could be considered offensive when it comes to transgender people but they aren’t an attack any more than his other jokes were an attack on other groups.
His reaction to the pushback feels like more of an ego thing than making any kind of stand on the topic.
I’ve started getting angry when people declare that they refuse to give money to people begging because they’ll just use it on drugs. More because of how frequently it comes up.
They aren’t obliged to help anyone but just assuming every homeless person is a drug addict is so condescending.
And even if they were they are still a person and the money they beg for will is some part contribute to feeding them. You can’t subsist off of drugs.
I see the same people burn money on the dumbest shit but act like giving money to homeless people is a sin against God.
And you’re not obliged to. There’s nothing immoral about not going out of your way to help people especially at risk to yourself.
While they are people and should be treated with dignity and not like animals, they are still people and like any stranger can be dangerous and unpredictable, especially in desperation.
Not to mention at least near where I live about a third of the homeless are mentally ill due to the state’s incapacity to care for such people.

Okay. Those are all good reasons but “It was the 70s and he wasn’t white” is definitely my favorite.
