You definitely shouldn’t invest time in SMS. Without RCS (or some custom messaging protocol support), “texting apps” are pretty much a dead market.
RCS is both more secure and more user friendly than SMS can be by design. Once the iPhone gets RCS support in the coming months/years, this will be especially true.
Right? We used to be like “this is written like how some 60 year old executive thinks kids these days talk … nobody talks like this we just talk normally…”
Yeah no millennial is doing that to fit in/not feel old (okay there are probably some but they’re a minority for sure), at best they’re doing that to be annoying/make fun of the crazy slang.
The Infrastructure Bill, the CHIPS Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act are huge examples from the Biden presidency.
From those we’re getting tons of bridges fixed, Internet upgrades, public transit improvements, research funded for climate change (including locally, Akron received finding for researching alternative polymers that don’t rely on oil), domestic security improvements from domestic chip manufacturing, port and airport upgrades, funding to increase the size of EV charging networks, power grid upgrades to help with all of that, labor got a huge boon as all of these bills encourage or require domestic manufacturing, medicare drug negotiation, we’re replacing ALL the lead pipes in public water supply lines, more fixes to tax cheats from corporations and rich people, and funds to cleanup superfund sites.
People really don’t realize how much Biden has gotten done; especially when compared to other recent presidents … like Mr. Build A Wall.
The affordable care act while controversial was also very big as you said.
That’s such nonsense… Like Israel answers to Biden anyways.
This is exactly what Hamas wanted from what I’ve been reading. They set themselves up so that anyone who wanted to come after them would have to commit atrocious acts. Ugh.
What’s the point of this liberty you speak of if we don’t use it to criticize our own governments, and why stop at just criticism? The truth is you’ll only realize how thin your liberty actually is when you actually pose a threat.
You’re conflating a comparison with an endorsement.
One can say the US is unquestionably better than China while still acknowledging the US has issues.
I’d challenge you to find any country that’s truly “trustworthy.” That doesn’t mean I think it’s impossible, I just think historically humans suck at governorship.
As for what’s different between the US and China, your original point, I think a lot of it is just what’s available/who has the better deal. The US historically has the better innovations, the better weaponry, and in the case of Europe, bidirectional cultural influences, and there’s just a lot more history with the US as a partner and a lot more families with folks in both locations.
