A bucket of salt is probably more healthy for you than listening to anything a site with "facts" in the name says.

And that's not even looking at who's behind that site and the wording they use.

Remember, breathing gives you an elevated risk of lungcancer.

Before doing anything, if your screen allows it, swap DP to HDMI or HDMI to DP as output, that may fix this to the point of being able to actually boot and further fix the issue.

I've had this before with drivers where suddenly it would fail on either port but would still run on one of the others.

I have varicose veins on my legs and I'd love to have arms like that because they itch a lot.

His use was that by his nature of wanting to create as much misery and mayham around the world as one person could possibly do, he created a lot of wealth for a lot of people attached to the military industrial complex.

If you plan on using something like Gentoo, building Gentoo and running it in a VM a couple times tends to be a smart play.

I've been using Gentoo for ages, as I'm a stickler for stripping down everything to its bare minimum and even I tend to first have a couple runs at building and running it on new hardware, from within a VM.

Going in knowing the intimate details of the hardware you use is always going to be a big plus.

Both Windows and Linux do a rather fantastic job at restoring your desktop to its previous state if you ever reboot.

And in Windows, if you use Powertoys, the options to do so grow even more.

Yeah, since you can also use a different Kernel and end up with something that looks like a Linux distribution, anyone who has ever used common Linux distributions is instantly familiar with, while definitely not being Linux.

Lol, that's similar as to how I suggested Microsoft Code to someone I worked with for their personal laptop since they mainly used MSVS at work.

Were bitching they didn't like Code because it "didn't work half the time".

Turns out they were doing the same thing, opening files, sometimes editing them and then just closing the application.

Had a whole smorgasbord of open files and most of them were in an edited but unsaved state.

This concept of explicit saves rather than closing an app and having it force save was horrible to them.

Because pirated versions will be running a VLK license while there is no VLK subscription on file or run a KMS software to fake the authentication of licenses.

Or in some cases, just run pure unlicensed and Windows will tell you on the desktop itself that the copy is unlicensed.

If inspected, you have to prove you have the correct licenses.

In some cases you'll be allowed to just buy the licenses there and then, but if you've been running dozens of unlicensed copies or dozens of straight up illegal copies (with faked/cracked/stolen licenses), they'll put the hammer down and you'll be audited in detail to the point they'll end up billing AND fining you for every piece of software you've used in your entire history.

Yeah, that's it, I'm GenX, but I actually had a PC in the home as early as I can remember, got my own by age 8 and build my own age 10.

That's how some of these generational boundaries blur together, where the experience that defines one, can already have been part of the previous in specific circumstances.

And personally, I've VERY interested in seeing 10 years down the line when we have the first adults who grew up with on-demand streaming and tablets/phones.

When I was a child, they shoved a picture book in my hands to keep me entertained while sitting still.

Now, you give them a tablet and they can watch YouTube or cartoons, right in their hands.

Really wonder what difference this kind of thing will cause.

I'm oldschool.

I've had my own domains and mail servers for the past 3 decades and will maintain them for as long as I live.

And these days, all but the storage runs of Pi3, so it's barely using any power either.

Between highschool and starting uni, I did a small stint as a cashier.

I called the cops on two people, one was stealing beer, the other some keychain. Both cheap items, but not necessities.

I saw multiple people steal baby formula and diapers and there wasn't a bone in my body that even thought of calling the cops on them.

The first are stealing to steal.

The later are stealing to survive.

Imho the law should make a clear distinction between the two too.
