Just have it give you the ability to cast any spell. It’s the basic ability of Wish and the only thing that won’t make you roll percentiles to see if you lose access to the spell forever.

EssentialCoffee, to asklemmy in Is Sync for Android worth the cost?

Maybe when Reddit Sync Ultra was released, they misunderstood what was happening. That was an opt-in cost.

EssentialCoffee, to chat in Something disturbing about Hallmark movies

Sure

Notably, The Lion King, Brave, Frozen, & Mulan.

I don’t think Johnson & Johnson has ever made baby formula.

Do you tell your doctors not to use J&J products and medicine during surgery or when you go in for regular checkups and need medications?

EssentialCoffee, to asklemmy in What companies have made your blacklist?

Chick-fil-A. Direct support to anti-LGBT+ groups. Then after they said they would stop, they were found to still be doing it. But don’t worry, they said they’d stop for real this time.

Payless Shoes. Awful experience checking out once. No reason to ever go back. They’re closed now, so nothing to worry about there.

Not having kids saves a lot of time. Also, not having a dog, or having a very low maintenance dog that doesn’t need a lot of walking.

GIF was pronounced with soft g since it came out, back in the 80s/90s when it was shared on AOL and CompuServe.

FWIW, in the 80s & 90s, everyone I knew pronounced it with a hard G, including folks at computer shows, which my family used to go to frequently.

To me, the soft g ‘jif’ pronunciation is the new Internet fad, not the other way around.

EssentialCoffee, to comicstrips in JPEG

That’s because it’s a hard g.

My dad quit when his cigarette of choice became $80/carton.

It’s not lose lose if it’s causing people to quit.

They’ll still point it out to you.

My husband gets told there are pronouns on his badge all the time, as if he didn’t know they were there.

EssentialCoffee, to asklemmy in Why is youtube recommending conservative "talking points" to me?

I suppose if you do nothing but scroll YouTube endlessly, it just starts to recommend anything to keep you in the platform.

But I’ve had an account since they started and even watch The Young Turks and C-Span here and there and almost never get anything political, let alone right wing.

My algorithm is at the point where I get Korean commercials, which is honestly fine with me.

EssentialCoffee, to asklemmy in Why is youtube recommending conservative "talking points" to me?

Like others have said, the things you watch are prime interests for right wing in the US. You have to train the algorithm that you don’t want it.

EssentialCoffee, to asklemmy in Why is youtube recommending conservative "talking points" to me?

I think it has more to do with the stuff you watch than wanting to piss you off.

All YouTube recommends to me are videos of kpop, dog grooming, Kitten Lady, and some Friesian horse stable that went across my feed once. Oh, and some historical sewing stuff.

If they started recommended stuff that pissed me off, I wouldn’t bother going back except for direct videos linked from elsewhere.

Edit: Rereading what OP said they watch, their interests are primary interests of the right wing in the US. If they don’t train the algorithm they don’t want it, the algorithm doesn’t know that those interests don’t intersect.

Some people just like to argue.
