I’m not that person but I’ve been using GrapheneOS for about 8 months now. Setting up an esim was probably the worst thing I had to do but it was still relatively easy. Lmk if you got any questions
The foss apps I dont agree with but a stock grapheneos setup is as basic as it gets so even a non tech person can use it. OP can even set it up for them to auto update whatever apps they use through the playstore so the grandparents dont really have to do anything
Honestly like iron mans HUD would be pretty neat to have but knowing myself I’d end up getting ran over while walking or would be easy pickings for a thief
Edit: Forgot to mention what I use. After getting a pair of buds+ I dont really fumble for my device anymore. Samsung’s touch controls for the buds+ are great. Setup with the app once and delete it right after and you’re golden
Havent personally created an account with piped since I like to limit accounts where ever possible but I believe you create an account with the piped instance that you choose so you dont login to your google account at all. You’ll have to do a google takeout iirc inorder to get a copy of your youtube subscription which you can then import.
Honestly a big debate, so it really depends on your threat model. Lots of people even keep their totp seeds within their password manager which basically defeats 2fa imo, but it’s highly convenient. Personally I keep my totp seeds seperated in a sandboxed user profile.
Iirc theyre these expensive discs that are highly resistant to disc rot (or something along those lines) for at least 1000 years. Kinda gimmicky tbh since it still needs to be stored properly to achieve that claim and suffers from the same problems as any other optical disc (the equipment needed to read and write and still durability)
