Still had to leave Reddit. Polandball may be fun but I had to stick to my principles. I wish they had their own community board elsewhere.

I had to help a friend install the VMware kernel modules, since VMware is weird and VirtualBox sucks for virtualising Windows. I had to guide him through it step by step, making sure his commands were exact.

He’s only started using the terminal properly. Hell no, I’m not going to recommend Arch to him.

Be honest, do you still use reddit?

I used to check the front page at least once every day, and occassionally check specific subreddits. Now I don’t look at reddit unless theres some drama, like mods getting purged, then I’d go there and enjoy the drama. Occasionally there will be questions that only reddit has the answer to so I have to reluctantly use it. I...

In the rare case I need a result that I can’t find anywhere else. Otherwise, nah. The way Spez treated the Apollo dev disgusted me enough that I want nothing to do with that site anymore.

I don’t really use social media for that, to be honest. I just get info from my friends, but if I seek out news myself I’ll usually just check the BBC, free news that has to be as impartial as possible. Maybe the Financial Times is alright too, but they paywall their articles and they’re more intended for investors than the average person.
