Interesting to know that steam, gog, and epic (specifically) all work well for you, I’ve heard mixed results with Epic, some say it doesn’t work. Maybe I’ve gotten wrong info.
I have an older laptop, and as soon as I can upgrade to something better, I’m going to use it as a Linux practice.
I don’t run Linux (though I’m admittedly more interested in it than I used to be) but the reddit API stuff definitely made me learn more about foss, and value it more.
I think maybe I’m misunderstanding—are you saying that valuing free software is more important than valuing FOSS? FOSS is inherently free, no? Free Open Source Software. I would understand if I was talking about open source in general, but FOSS does include being free. Maybe that’s not what you meant.
It’s surprisingly hard (at least for me, perhaps I’m looking wrong :p) to find general comparisons comparing the brands for overall usefulness. You’ll find stuff comparing their drills, or something specific, but not everything overall. Which seems much more important, as (as has been mentioned in these comments) the batteries really lock you into one brand.
I was very intimidated as well, I’ll try to simplify it, but as always check the documentation ;)
This is the process I used to sync between my Windows PC and Android phone to sync retroarch saves (works well, would recommend, Pokemon is awesome) I’ve never done it on a Linux, though i assume it’s not too different
I downloaded the Synctrazor program so that it would run in the tray, again I’m not sure what the equivalent/if this would be necessary on Linux.
No shade to the writers, but the documentation isn’t super noob friendly, as I figured out. I’d recommend trying to cut out all the fluff, and boil it down to bare essentials. Download the program (whichever one seems right for your device, there’s an app for Android) and follow the process for syncing stuff (I believe I used a video guide, but it’s not actually as complicated as it seems)
If you need specific help I’d be happy to answer questions, though I only understand a certain amount myself XD
I don’t know where you live, but this is very much still doable now. It all depends on your location. If you’d actually like to live somewhere like that, try looking for towns with 10k or less people. It might take a while, but eventually you’ll find one you like
On a side note, my grandmother is always thankful when someone leaves a shopping cart by the parking space, because she leans on them to help her walk, and it’s often hard for her to walk the distance from the car to the stall.
There were still some okay shows on animal planet, last time I checked, when I stopped at a hotel and turned on a TV. They had a treehouse building one that was cool… Don’t know why it was on animal planet, but still
Seriously though, people way over gate-keep cooking. It’s not hard to get into, at all. Just practice, and don’t feel bad about following recipes to a tee. Even once you get better, there’s nothing saying you have to create your own recipes. If you enjoy the process of cooking but not the rest, fuck putting limitations on something as simple as making food and do your own thing
Well, to be fair, I’ve had people get annoyed with me for saying Merry Christmas in the past (I’m not particularly religious, but I was raised to say it and it’s a habit to break)
It’s all subjective. Just because you haven’t had something said to you, or even haven’t seen or heard of someone saying it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.
I am in an intense love-hate relationship with Spotify. It makes good mixes for me, I have found a lot of great bands that way. BUT IT KEEPS REGURGITATING THE SAME SONGS IN THERE. I know about Song Radios and Artist Radios, so please don’t recommend those. Smart Shuttle doesn’t cut it, either....
Some might say that it makes them less healthy, but a very light drizzle of honey before you cook them, and it becomes one of the best things you’ll ever eat
I still go on Reddit when I find the answer to a specific problem, or if I have to ask something specific, but I make sure to go on my computer with adblock
If windows 12 is a subscription like the rumors say, it might finally push me to Linux. Right now I haven’t moved over just cause there hasn’t been a particularly annoying thing to do it yet
Coffee is very cheap if you actually just make it. Maybe not cheaper than 4¢ tea bags sure, but cheap.
Edit: if anyone is curious about making coffee simply at home, buy a French press (fancy doesn’t matter, get a $15 one on Amazon) and some coffee grounds (taste is just an experiment of what brand you like. Eventually you’ll want to grind your own beans but don’t worry about it for now. If you can, get medium grind grounds, as that’s supposed to be good for French presses) follow a guide online for making it. You’ll need a way to measure hot water like a kettle, but that’s the same for tea so hey.
