GiddyGap,

Many phones have no notch. Just a small camera hole.

GiddyGap,

I believe the bidet is actually French. I assume that counts as the “Western world.”

GiddyGap,

Would definitely blow minds in the US, but most of the rest of the western world is pretty much up to par.

GiddyGap,

And they are not manly enough for the very manly men in 'Murica.

GiddyGap,

If they really find out that they want to secede from the US, I don’t think they will care what the US says.

GiddyGap,

Also, millions of people living in Texas are not originally from Texas and have no particular allegiance to Texas.

GiddyGap,

Many boomers aren’t helping, though. Especially the ones in the US.

GiddyGap,

50°C is very hot. 0°C is very cold. 25°C is perfect.

GiddyGap,

I guess temperature relative to comfort level is subjective.

How Many Streaming Services Do You Have?

I remember when it was just Hulu for $5 and Netflix for $8. Saved $50 a month from cable. Now it seems we spend more. I have four. Max, Peacock, Paramount and Hulu. Prime doesn’t count because it sucks balls. (Only paying Netflix when next Stranger Things and Squid Game is released). Curious to see what the average...

GiddyGap,

I don’t really want any of them, but I seem to get 4 or 5 different streaming services included with other necessary subs I have. As long as they are “free,” I might as well use them.

What are the best steps to reduce the wealth of billionaires?

There are a myriad of news articles here on Lemmy that display the abhorrent influence billionaires have on our society (especially the US, where I reside). I consistently read comments where the posters appear hopeless and despondent of the situation, while others jokingly refer to the guillotine....

GiddyGap,

Taxation (also unlikely)

I think this is the most feasible way, and it work relatively well in other Western countries than the US. They still have billionaires, but fewer due to higher taxation. If put in place through referendum, it also creates a basis for societal approval of stripping very wealthy people of their excess wealth, lowing the risk of widespread revolt.

GiddyGap,

For most of the Republican members of my family, the government is always out to get them. Something Reagan taught them.

GiddyGap,

So far I’ve traced 7 waterfalls trekking uphill from the water side. But I can hear more in the distance!

So, I guess you hear 3, at most, in the distance.

GiddyGap, (edited )

Can imagine. Visited the Yad Vashem holocaust museum in Jerusalem and the holocaust museum in Berlin. Both were awesome and brutal experiences. Well worth a visit.

GiddyGap,

Oh, thinking “if they know how much I owed them anyway, why do I have to do this shit in the first place?”

They do that in pretty much all other developed countries. Never had to worry about filing taxes when I lived overseas. Just double check their work and forget about it until next year.

GiddyGap,

A spokeswoman for Intuit, Tania Mercado, criticized the direct file project as a “half-baked solution” and a waste of taxpayer money.

Yeah, screw you. You shouldn’t have to pay to file your taxes. End of story.

GiddyGap,

In case someone can’t read what it says: “Unleash the Beast”

GiddyGap,

True. I’m just glad I’m not part of that experiment. It’s bad enough to live with the threat of a second Trump presidency.

GiddyGap,

You know you’re a true Texan when you mow your front lawn and you find your car.

GiddyGap,

Making stops at lots of shit holes along the way.
