Ilovethebomb, to lemmyshitpost in Get in the zone!

You’re probably right, but it’s still not a smart slogan.

And they knew it was terrestrial in origin, because only one dish picked it up, whereas if it was was of outerstellar origin, multiple sites would have received it.

Given how fast China can progress when they put their minds to it, this is worrying.

Ilovethebomb, to lemmyshitpost in Opposite of clickbait

Mark my words, a movie will be made about this one day.

That’s a two hour movie condensed into one sentence.

Maybe.

This would be genuinely hilarious to hang somewhere where it won’t be noticed for a while.

Ilovethebomb, to lemmyshitpost in Fuck them right in the...?

That’s true, but of course the article doesn’t give an RPM range.

Off you toddle then.

It’s a matter of perspective really.

In the sense that the fence is built on higher ground, but it’s not obvious because of the perspective the photo is taken from.

Where do they even measure this, is it at the wheels?

Ilovethebomb, to lemmyshitpost in Fuck them right in the...?

Also wrong. If you compare two otherwise identical vehicles, the one with more power will both accelerate faster and have a higher top speed, assuming it has the gearing to use that power.

Stop getting all your vehicle knowledge from old top gear episodes.

Ilovethebomb, to lemmyshitpost in Fuck them right in the...?

it directly measures their ability to get up to speed

No, it doesn’t. power measures how fast the vehicle will get up to speed, torque is meaningless unless you know the RPM that torque is being made at.

Ilovethebomb, to lemmyshitpost in Fuck them right in the...?

Torque is a stupid, meaningless figure in almost any situation, but particularly in a vehicle where there is a transmission involved.

The original patent for the toilet roll holder has it away from the wall, so the inventor intended to be that way.
