Ilovethebomb,

A bizarre number of them are about Taylor Swift though.

Ilovethebomb,

It also didn’t work for Hilary in spectacular fashion.

Ilovethebomb,

Torque to yield, then back a quarter turn.

Lemmy: fails the vibe check (lemmy.zip)

Zero chill factor. Every post has to have a dissertation under it explaining how its problematic. Reddit/Twitter reposts that make you nod your head in agreement get mindlessly upvoted. Even communities that should be more off-color get relegated to the most normie shit possible. Lemmy feels homogenous as fuck. /rant

Ilovethebomb,

Check my post history and decide for yourself.

I’d really rather not.

Ilovethebomb,

Even if it was just a problem you made and you fixed but nothing actually changes.

Isn’t this half of what some IT people do?

Ilovethebomb,

Personally, I’d find it easier to just move to another instance than do all that.

Ilovethebomb,

There would always be the option for an author, or their estate, to allow such a work.

Clearly labelling whether a work was by the original author is only fair, of course.

Ilovethebomb,

Who was it? What was their name?

Ilovethebomb,

You can’t copyright a real person, obviously. A work about them you can.

Ilovethebomb,

My point was, saying Jesus was a fictional character would make people angry. Using him in a work of fiction is not the same thing.

Ilovethebomb,

You’re the second person to say something like this. Suggesting the characters in the Bible are fictional will make some people very angry.

Ilovethebomb,

This is today’s Lemmy Moment Of The Day.

Ilovethebomb,

I’ve let the smoke out of a Bosch drill before, they’re not that great.

Ilovethebomb,

Most of the sub compact stuff is just rebranded M12 gear, for example. Not everything is the same, but a lot is.

Ilovethebomb,

Just buy a mains powered tool, they’re usually cheaper anyway.

Ilovethebomb,

You do lose power through those, so they’re not great for high power tools. Torque Test Channel has done quite a few videos on this.

Ilovethebomb,

I’ve got AEG, which is basically yellow Milwaukee anyway.

Ilovethebomb,

Yes, Festool do one for their sanders. A battery tool is usually more expensive and less powerful than a mains powered tool though, so I’m not sure what the advantage of this would be.

Ilovethebomb,

Ryobi is the perfect price point and level of quality for DIY stuff, but you still want a decent quality tool.

Ilovethebomb,

Anyone buying Hilti for DIY work needs to be slapped.

Ilovethebomb,

Imagine having a power brick for your battery drill. Truly the worst of both worlds.

Ilovethebomb,

I actually did a lot of research on this when I bought my first battery tools, knowing this would be the case, and decided they had a decent range of everything I’d likely need.

I went with AEG.

Ilovethebomb,

Rigid are mostly Milwaukee tools but cheaper.
