ImplyingImplications,

Absolutely! It’s called “masking” and its incredibly common for people who aren’t neurotypical because they’ll be bullied otherwise.

ImplyingImplications,

It’s like mandating all cars need to have an ignition interlock because some people drive drunk.

ImplyingImplications,

I’ve never worked on this stuff but I’ve looked it up before. Essentially, theatres get a DCP but it’s unplayable without a Key Delivery Message (KDM).

My understanding is that theatres order these and pay a fee for each one. The KDM is only valid to unlock a specific DCP, on a specific projector, on a specific date and time. It won’t work if any of these checks are off meaning you can’t check that it works until the theatre is filled with patrons who paid to see your movie, as the KDM will only decrypt the movie seconds before playtime. If there’s some glitch, a theatre manager needs to call a hotline for a new KDM.

ImplyingImplications,

I think you’re talking about SSSniperWolf and JacksFilms. It’s particularly interesting because it’s not just two people arguing. SSSniperWolf very clearly violated YouTube TOS as well as possibly California law. YouTube’s response essentially protected her because she’s YouTube royalty, pulling in 1 million+ views on all her videos, which are all her “reacting” to tiktok videos.

It’s beyond “drama”. It’s a giant tech/media company playing favourites with creators who break not only TOS, but copyright law, and US law. It shows they’ll look the other way over any infraction so long as you make them enough money.

ImplyingImplications,

Starcraft II Dev explains a horse microtransaction im World of Warcraft, that took one person a few days to make, made Blizzard more money than StarCraft II, which took an entire team 2 years to develop. Capitalism ensures major studios will never make a good game. Games are now only a pretense to sell microtransactions that cost the company nothing to produce but sell for millions.

ImplyingImplications,

This perfectly describes Japan. The nation of advanced robotics and businesses that still communicate by fax.

ImplyingImplications,

You can tell because it suggests Linux isn’t for gamers but Valve has its own game console that runs on Linux. It’d be pretty stupid if a game console couldn’t run games.

The business in this case being what? What good or service is being provided? Landlords didn’t create the land, nor did they build the residence, nor did they improve its value by building a community around it. They are benefiting off of the work of others simply because they “own” it. The most common arguments I hear in support of landlords are:

  1. Landlords take care of maintenance. Maintenance costs don’t increase 20% a year. If rent was simply maintenance costs it would be a fraction of what it currently is
  2. Landlords allow people who cannot afford a home a place to stay. Why do you think they can’t afford a home? It’s like saying without scalpers people wouldn’t be able to see concerts because the tickets are instantly purchased by bots.
ImplyingImplications,

Fun fact: In Japan you say your hobby is sleeping instead of saying you don’t have a hobby

ImplyingImplications,

I always just assumed they’re like magical spells and shouting the name is a requirement to cast them

Why pay for video games when

  1. Lots of free video games exist, and
  2. The paid video games can be pirated

The answers are;

  1. The free games and the paid games are not identical. There are differences between Genshin Impact and Breath of the Wild. However, both games are great, and both have their own userbase.
  2. If the game price is reasonable, it is more convenient to buy the game than pirate it.

You can swap video games with literally any digital product, including porn.

They recently made a post saying sexual dancing would be allowed on the platform but then changed their minds after being roasted for it.

ImplyingImplications,

I worked with a lady who did this all the time. She’d over hear words and just start using them at work and even with clients. She offered people “dime bags” assuming it meant “a small bag”. She heard someone call a charcuterie board a “coochie board” and thought it was cute so kept saying it. She called her husband “Big D” because his name starts with D and the default icon her phone gave him was a capital D and she thought it was a cute nickname.

ImplyingImplications,

Isreal’s main exports are cutting-edge technology found nowhere else in the world. Russia’s main export is oil. Western and European Union countries were fine getting their oil elsewhere, but they absolutely do not want to give up advanced tech. Especially since there will always be other countries that don’t care and will continue trading anyway.

ImplyingImplications,

Bioscience and Military tech are also fields Isreali companies excel at.

ImplyingImplications,

Red Bean Paste. It’s often sweetened and used as a filling in a lot of Japanese pastries and desserts.

ImplyingImplications,

Norway’s wealth comes almost entirely from their nationalized oil production

Video game groups have some of the best questions. “How can I seduce my daughter?” What the fu-asked in Crusader Kings. Oh.

ImplyingImplications,

Kikuri Hiroi from Bocchi the Rock. It’s an anime about a shy high school girl who learned to play guitar because she thought it would help her make friends but now she’s just shy and really good at guitar. It’s a wholesome anime and Bocchi is just like me fr fr. Kikuri is an older base player from another band that encourages Bocchi…and is almost always drunk.

ImplyingImplications,

Tate specifically moved to Romania because of how corrupt their police and judicial system is. He only got arrested for bragging about it to an international audience.

ImplyingImplications,

It feels like sucking a dick…from what I’ve heard, anyways.

ImplyingImplications,

“This ice cream is amazing! You really should have ordered some.”
