JPJones,

Can’t break resolutions you don’t make!

JPJones,

Naw. Downvoted for the improper use of “your” in the edit.

JPJones,

Unforgivable!

JPJones,

3 days ago. Main drain pipe for the house clogged. Poo water came up both shower drains. We had the house cleaned that morning. Toilets unusable for most of the day. $800 to get it fixed due to complications because of old house. At least it was fixed same day I guess.

Good luck web devs (lemmy.world)

Alt text:Twitter post by Daniel Feldman (@d_feldman): Linux is the only major operating system to support diagonal mode (credit [Twitter] @xssfox). Image shows an untrawide monitor rotated about 45 degrees, with a horizontal IDE window taking up a bottom triangle. A web browser and settings menu above it are organized creating a...

JPJones,

Sure, but then you’re viewing it on your secondary monitor.

JPJones,

Rotate your phone you dirty savage! Or don’t idc really.

JPJones,

Probably man-made as opposed to farm grown.

JPJones,

C’mon now. “Laptop monitor turn off” has never generated a good result, even in the before time. I share the question: what are these people searching for that Google is generally yielding worse results than other engines? For anything sysadmin, IT-related, or any sort of troubleshooting, I’ve always needed to be creative to get to the good stuff.

JPJones,

Yeah, and what I was saying is it’s always been that way since the first search engines started popping up.

What is your unpopular flim opinion

I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds

JPJones,

I can only speak for myself, but it wasn’t so much the line as the hand-waving that came with it. It was more that I found the line relatable, but you’re right about it being appropriate for the scene.

JPJones,

It’s not the criticism. It’s the condescension and bitterness. Your case is an outlier; an anecdote, yet you’re talking about it like it’s the norm when the data shows it is not. So I asked what your story is, because that’s the important part. What happened? What lesson can people learn from your situation that might help them avoid it themselves?

JPJones,

Thanks for the explanation and context. Your opinion makes more sense now.
