Today, December 10, Evenkia day is celebrated. Evenks are a Tungusic people living in Siberia. Here's a (possible) flag of the Evenks. (upload.wikimedia.org)

I found the flag on Wikipedia, but I cannot find any reliable sources verifying that it is actually used or officially adopted by somebody. So take it with a pinch of salt....

Jämtland does not want to play with the other boring kids anyway. They consider themselves an independent republic standing above puny provincial flags. Because the flag was created for the Republic Jamtland, it looks different than all other provincial flags.

Version 1 IMO. No need to add features to an already nice sun. Any background on the design?

Nice work! So much better than the existing flags, both the design and the well thought symbolism. Though Puerto Rico’s flag hardly needs changing IMO, it is already great as it is.

The flag of Angola was adopted on this day (11 November 1975). It stands out with the machete and cogwheel, bearing clear resemblance to the communist hammer and sickle. (upload.wikimedia.org)

The AK-47 and hoe of the Mozambican flag can also be seen as a version of the hammer and sickle, else the symbol is no longer used on national flags today....

Today (November 3) marks 45 years since Dominica adopted its flag. It is the only national flag using the color purple outside a coat of arms. (El Salvador and Nicaragua have purple in their CoA). (upload.wikimedia.org)

(Since you almost need a magnifying glass to see the small purple fields in the rainbows of the flags of El Salvador and Nicaragua, I think they barely count.)...

Today is the anniversary of the self governing island country Niue adapting its flag. In principle a typical colonial design, with Union Jack in the canton, but the stars on it give an original touch. (upload.wikimedia.org)

The large star in the middle represents the island of Niue, the four smaller stars represent the Southern Cross....

Today marks 55 years since Eswatini adopted its current flag on 5 October 1968. Based on official flags, it seems like a bright blue is standard, despite depictions often featuring dark blue. (files.catbox.moe)

There does not seem to be an officially defined shade of blue, but a bright blue is seen in for example these pictures of prime ministers:...

On this day, 26 September 1962, the Yemen Arab Republic was declared in North Yemen after a coup d'état. Its flag was a typical red-white-red Arab nationalist flag. (upload.wikimedia.org)

The flag is very similar to the flag of Syria and Iraq, which had similar Arab nationalist regimes. In fact, for a time, the three countries had flags with one, two and three stars respectively!...

Cambodia has been through a lot of political regimes during the 20th century. As a consequence, they have also been through a lot of flags, before finally adopting the current one, 30 years ago today. (images2.imgbox.com)

The presence of Angkor Wat has been remarkably stable across the various flags. It also makes the Cambodian flag on of the only four state flags to feature a building. The other are the flags of Portugal, San Marino and Spain....
