Each and every one of the creatures we descended from, stretching all the way back to the beginning of life on Earth, has survived by killing before being killed. We are the final product of a string of millions of killers.

Invisibility, with ability to hide IR and sound and can make recording video cameras invisible too. I’d expose all the corrupt politicians, judges, and CEOs!

We are energy beings with no flesh and blood. We can take whatever form we desire. Food, water, and oxygen are not required, but still enjoyed if you want. We can create and destroy our own reality by just willing it so. We are not imprisoned by spacetime. We are completely free and immortal. You must be invited I to anothers reality. Once there you have no power to create or destroy in the host reality. You can leave the host reality at any time. You seek out benevolent host realities and can exist in your own simultaneously. We are highly intelligent, wise, and experience much wider and deeper emotions than humans. We have any sensor we desire, nothing is hidden from us, other than others’ internal and external realities if not invited.

Have you ever had a hyper realistic dream that you still remember after years?

I had a dream I was on a plane. A totally normal flight. Going in for a landing when things went wrong at the last minute. I swear I could feel the heat of the flames as I saw them coming through the fuselage as the plane is breaking up around me. I woke up on my feet beside my bed sweating. I’ve never had a dream like that...

JoeClu,
@JoeClu@lemmy.world avatar

Yup. I had this dream on May 8, 1994:

—start—

Reports are continuing to come in… they are confirming that the United States of America has just been taken over and is now under South African rule. “Control Panel Warfare” is what they are calling it. Rumors that the President has attempted suicide are circulating around the globe. “It’s all done through computers,” someone said. They have taken over with computers.

Everything will change. There will be no more homeless. Effective immediately this is now a police state. We were all in a room when my mom came in and announced this information. I think we were in a conference room at the hospital where she works. As she announced this terrifying news, the tone in the room went from joking to a stomach-turning sour in a matter of seconds. The look on my dads face… he was horrified. No one could believe their ears!

I thought an announcement this shocking would only come from the news that nuclear war has just broken out and we only had a few more moments to live. The news that the U.S. had just been taken over was incredibly shocking, yet at the same time I thought to myself that it was only a matter of time before something like this happened. So I guess I was horrified and not surprised all at the same time.

If I’m sick of something, I don’t quit, I change direction.

Be honest, do you still use reddit?

I used to check the front page at least once every day, and occassionally check specific subreddits. Now I don’t look at reddit unless theres some drama, like mods getting purged, then I’d go there and enjoy the drama. Occasionally there will be questions that only reddit has the answer to so I have to reluctantly use it. I...

Have you had any bad experiences with people on Lemmy?

I was recently talking to some friends about Lemmy and the whole Fediverse idea, as it seemed like a really cool part of the Internet. As I was talking about it, though, I realized how unusually friendly this whole place is, and I joked that I “surprisingly haven’t found any bigotry.”...

Hi, I’m not in in the know. What’s a tankie? Pardon my ignorance.

JoeClu,
@JoeClu@lemmy.world avatar

Thanks. Did not know that. So tankie is short for military tank. I get it.

I guess that’s one of the selling points on how Jack will make money. Get a small percentage as a fee for each micro payment. I guess that’s their revenue model instead of advertisers. It makes sense to not be beholden to the whims of advertisers perception potential market loss (i.e., censor things or lose revenue). But like you, I’m totally not into the crypto thing.

I’m interested in hearing more about the Lemmy cycle thing that’s annoying you. If you’re willing, what happened? I joined lemmy.world and haven’t ventured anywhere else yet.

JoeClu,
@JoeClu@lemmy.world avatar

Ouch. That sounds like a pain in the arse. I joined lemmy world several days ago without issue. I joined due to the population size. I have encountered where lemmy.world has been down, slow, and hacked, in the few days I’ve been participating. So that’s not good and it lends credence to what you are experiencing.

I’ve been looking for a new instance myself due to the growing pains lemmy.world has experienced since the reddit exodus.

You are right, it makes no sense to not offer support outside of being logged into a lemmy instance. It reminds me of my internet ISP. They advertise if you need support, go to <some address.com>. Meanwhile I can’t even get onto the internet. Makes no sense.

Anyway, good luck to you. Hope to continue to see you around even if it’s on another instance.

If you wish to keep slaves, you must have all kinds of guards. The cheapest way to have guards is to have the slaves pay taxes to finance their own guards. To fool the slaves, you tell them that they are not slaves and that they have Freedom. You tell them they need Law and Order to protect them against bad slaves. Then you tell them to elect a Government. Give them Freedom to vote and they will vote for their own guards and pay their salary. They will then believe they are Free persons. Then give them money to earn, count, and spend and they will be too busy to notice the slavery they are in.” - Alexander Warbucks

“Molten wounds still glow where the two nuclear bombs detonated. And I wonder, in my last moments, if the planet does not mind that we wound her surface or pillage her bounty, because she knows we silly warm things are not even a breath in her cosmic life. We have grown and spread, and will rage and die. And when all that remains of us is our steel monuments and plastic idols, her winds will whisper, her sands will shift, and she will spin on and on, forgetting about the bold, hairless apes who thought they deserved immortality.”
