Even saying “with a package manager” it’s much easier to have a browser to make a search to know what you want to enter to install using the package manager!
I’m sure many Linux users would be dead in the water if they were provided a computer with a distro without a browser/GUI package manager and no alternative way to access the internet.
The ship was erased from records, the tardigrade found by accident, genetic modifications are pretty much unacceptable to humans… Plenty of other great answers in this thread.
It’s funny how people are able to suspend their disbelief for some extremely convoluted things but for something fairly simple like that? Nah, the show is just bad.
The Netflix Marvel shows they made had some pretty useless sex scenes that look very weird in Disney’s catalogue these days… And god damn the violence is turned to eleven compared to current Marvel shows! That 11 minute one take fight in Daredevil season 3 is hot as fuck!
At the time it must have been replaced (assuming it ever was) I can guarantee that they didn’t care about practical solutions, they would have blown up the thing and started over, that river is way too small to carry lumber so they wouldn’t have cared about dumping tons of logs in it.
Get a Shield or something of the sort and stream from that.
Or
Stop paying for 4k if you don’t want to run Windows/OSX/use smart TV apps/get another device just for that, you’re wasting your money.
Edit: Lol at the downvote, streaming services don’t let you see 4k content from a browser, that’s just a fact, so unless you are ready to use a platform that allows you to watch 4k content then you’re wasting money by paying for it. None of them have a native Linux app either, so your choice is Windows, OSX, TV app or Android based device.
I never said to do it while it’s in the middle of changing stuff, but if you just booted you can turn it off and nothing will happen because worst case it will just be downloading without installing, as someone else mentioned, once updates are installed you can even turn off without applying updates if you want and you can also tell it to only download and not install unless you tell it to or not download at all.
I mean, if it was accidental then… Just turn it off and boot back into Linux? You realise you can just turn it off while it’s downloading updates, right? Heck, you can even pause updates long term if you want! 😱 Crazy!
Imma burst your bubble (pun intended) but that’s such a small part of the population and even such a small part of the tech savvy population that I don’t think it’s much of an argument.
