On Reddit it got so bad I stopped responding to replies entirely. I’m still not very regular about that, but whenever I check now, I’m shocked to find I’m not just getting blindly downvoted for potentially contraversial statements. It feels like a really good sign to me - progress in an era of downward spirals as low effort people all over the world spew their nonsense on everything.

Yeah, I saw that again the other day and could not care less. I love the Lemmy mobile apps, and there’s nothing good left for Reddit in that area.

I actually was kind of annoyed the first week of Lemmy. It felt like a lot of keyboard warriors came over. It doesn’t feel as much like that any longer. I think if anyone didn’t stick around, it was the loud people pretending they were stronger than their addictions.

Good riddance, this is a much more chill crowd now. Maybe it’s just a bunch of old people… But eh, I’m old. We can all be old together now. Just stay the fuck off my lawn, and by that I mean the grass outside my apartment complex.

Ironically, when you read subs you do inevitably miss some nuances of what’s going on.

On the plus side, the translations can be much better since they don’t have to match it to the lips of the characters.

In the end, I like both, but I tend to watch more dubs. Japanese is a really neat language, though. Sometimes it’s fun to watch subs just to hear it.

Oof, I respect that you enjoy it, but it’s at the bottom of the list for me. I actually like Pizza Hut to some degree, but I go to local places usually. The best pizza is almost always at those local haunts!

I just checked this out. Seems great, but I was bummed to see they only support iOS, and not Android. Any idea if they plan to extend to Android?

Low effort posts

Ask Lemmy is a place to ask thought provoking questions. The mods have been lenient with some of the recent posts on the basis that they must provoke thought for some people, but after seeing two posts essentially saying “what do you think of my stick?”, I believe we can raise the bar a bit on what kind of thoughts we want...

Because, yeah, critics usually suck. They will tell you a movie is great, and the vibe can be so shitty sometimes. Like, ruin your whole night levels of depressing or pretentious.
