Leadership is important when it impacts the bottom. Look at Twitter… That wasn’t capitalism, it was Elon Musk.

I’m not propping up capitalism, I’m just pointing out that bad leaders can easily ruin successful and/or good things.

I kind of agree… I’ve been around these things, and they are incredibly stupid.

I guess I’d draw the line around them purely because in western culture these are pets… But I think practically speaking these are a lot better than actual pigs, which are very intelligent.

We have very strange eating habits when you really think about it.

We are able to easily shoulder the burdens of hosting, yet Google wants to dominate us and force us to use their hosting at the psychological cost of being their sponge for anyone’s paid information campaign. YouTube in 2016 was non-stop Trump ads. Non fucking stop.

Lol 10-15% of our income? I’m sorry… But who can afford that? We’re getting so fucked right now by greed in this country…

My power bill was $500 last month for a two bedroom apartment. This is because I live in a city with the highest energy rates in the nation, all because the company and our local governments are absolutely lousy with corruption. They have posted obscene record profits for the last half a decade while everyone in the city suffers.

My rent was also 21% higher this year than it was in 2020. My landlord bought this place a decade ago at a bankruptsy auction, but like, fuck me right? Gatta keep those rates up when the rest of the city goes up.

I also haven’t saved money since around 2019, since I went four years with a 0% raise due to the company I work for struggling. We were bought out by another company with tons of money, but they decided we were overpaid, since they live in a cheaper city.

My story is not unique. My story is not special. I hear a similar one from people every week. Retirement is a luxury most post-boomers will never experience, no matter how hard we work.

Yeah, this is true. I feel like those would all ripen at about the same time. You can guess pretty well, but they often seem to ripen together.

Also, they didn’t wrap the stem. Those will ripen quickly, now.

So this is interesting… if you see a bunch of bananas, you’re not allowed to break one off? Here in the United States, it’s totally acceptable to do this. You can straight up go around and pull one banans off of 7 different bunches, and nobody will even look at you funny.

I used to check the front page at least once every day, and occassionally check specific subreddits. Now I don’t look at reddit unless theres some drama, like mods getting purged, then I’d go there and enjoy the drama. Occasionally there will be questions that only reddit has the answer to so I have to reluctantly use it. I...

Probably the new Google search that uses Bard. It’s not public yet, but you can ask for access.

Edit: It’s currently referred to as “generative search”, and you can use it on Android if you sign up for the beta version of the app on the play store.
