Molecular0079, to linux in Hopeless.

No shame, job market for tech is fucking tough right now, but it will improve. In the meantime, keep your skills fresh. Start some projects of your own that will help you pick up the necessary skills and stay relevant and do freelance jobs on Upwork and similar services.

I was in a very similar situation as you just a few months ago. Worked with several freelance clients and one of them hired me on full time. Pays well and full remote, and luckily in an area that’s isolated from all the craziness happening right now.

You got this! A CSE bachelor’s is way too valuable to stay a bum for long.

Molecular0079, to linux in [Resolved - now using Onboard] Any recommendations for an on-screen keyboard like the one that Windows has. The one that comes with Gnome is annoying to use...

Does it work in Wayland?

Molecular0079, to linux in Fedora 40 Looks To Ship AMD ROCm 6 For End-To-End Open-Source GPU Acceleration

The problem with ROCm is that its very unstable and a ton of applications break on it. Darktable only renders half an image on my Radeon 680M laptop. HIP in Blender is also much slower than Optix. We’re still waiting on HIP-RT.

Molecular0079, to linux in libcamera v0.2.0 released!

SP7 camera isn’t going to be supported until we get IPU4 Linux drivers, so it isn’t a libcamera issue.

Molecular0079, to linux in Best practices in mounting NAS shares?

Lately performance has improved dramatically. A year ago, it used to be about half-speed, but now it’s basically on par with a CLI-mount.

Molecular0079, to linux in Best practices in mounting NAS shares?

Which file manager are you using?

In Nautilus, you can right click anywhere and click Open in Console, at which point it will open up a terminal leading to a gvfs mount directory.

In KDE, it is slightly more annoying because there’s no right click option to quickly open it in terminal, but like gvfs, there’s a mount directory that you can access at /run/user//kio-fuse-/smb/.

Molecular0079, to linux in PeerTube v6 is out, and powered by your ideas !

It really needs proper federated search. I shouldn’t have to go to a secondary site just to search for videos across the network.

Molecular0079, to linux in Best practices in mounting NAS shares?

I agree, for most cases just mount it via your File Manager of choice. If you’re using it as a backing storage for another server, then that’s a use case where fstab is fine.

Molecular0079, to comicstrips in JPEG

That’s my reasoning as well. Jif is for peanut butter, why make things extra confusing?

Molecular0079, to piracy in Has anybody seen any of The Creator rips?

Lol, you know you’re getting old when other people start questioning cinema aspect ratios.

Molecular0079, to linux in Linux holds more than 8% market share in India, and it's on the upward trend

Yeah, if you look at some of those YouTube channels that scam the scammers, you’ll usually see that the scammers are all running Windows.

Molecular0079, to piracy in qBittorrent network interface bind not working?

Ah then that’s not the issue then. Weird that the qbittorrent interface bind isn’t working for you. Maybe try Wireguard instead? Def set IPv6 to link local and add ::/0 to allowed IPs on the Wireguard profile.

Molecular0079, to piracy in qBittorrent network interface bind not working?

In ipleak.net, your ipv4 address will be VPN IP and your IPv6 will be your own.

Molecular0079, to piracy in qBittorrent network interface bind not working?

Are you leaking data via IPv6? That’s a known issue at least with the default Wireguard configs, not sure about OpenVPN.
