I can't hear the outside unit running from inside if that's what you're wondering

US residents: What big domestic policy improvements have the american people won from congress in the last 30 years? (kbin.social)

Interpret improvements as you like. For me it's any large scale reforms or legislative packages designed to improve the country for all or see to the material interests of the majority without overly benefiting the elite....

Nope, the border wall is expensive, ineffective, and it destroys ecosystems.

What's a proper response to another dog attempting to mount your dog multiple times and the owner really not doing anything about it?

The owner kind of makes a weak attempt to seem like they’re trying, but if I weren’t there, they wouldn’t intervene at all. I’m asking because I want to make sure that I don’t over react next time.

If this is in America that's a good way to get shot

Is Ubuntu deserving the hate? (lemmy.ml)

Long story short, I have a desktop with Fedora, lovely, fast, sleek and surprisingly reliable for a near rolling distro (it failed me only once back around Fedora 34 or something where it nuked Grub). Tried to install on a 2012 i7 MacBook Air… what a slog!!! Surprisingly Ubuntu runs very smooth on it. I have been bothering all...

Snap isn't that bad
Ubuntu is fine
People are not

Gotta also be born into wealth so you can borrow hundreds of thousands of dollars from your family

Well maybe you'll think about that before you're born next time!

The one I had was completely minor. The wifi on my NUC doesn't work if you use the proprietary driver but it does work with whatever the kernel for Mint 21.2 has in it.

The Firefox snap opens instantly for me. I don't think you've used snaps for a while.

Montagge,
@Montagge@kbin.social avatar

Do it's a problem if they don't perform well and it's a problem if they do lol

Nah, we use to call that keeping up with the Jonses.

I haven't had any issues with the few snaps I use so far

Montagge,
@Montagge@kbin.social avatar

Proprietary doesn't bother me at least not how snap is currently implemented
I don't recall noticing a size difference between snaps and flatpaks
I've found snaps as fast as flatpaks, but I know snaps has issues before I started using them

Montagge,
@Montagge@kbin.social avatar

Yes, snaps are just like manslaughter

Montagge,

Driving drunk is factually stupid
Snaps are not
It's a bad analogy

Montagge,
@Montagge@kbin.social avatar

But the problem with snaps is an opinion. If Canonical goes bonkers I'll just go use something else. Until then I don't have any issues with them using proprietary software within their own ecosystem.

Lasted longer than a lot of foss projects lol

Then I uninstalled the Nvidia binary drivers and libraries.

I need to get around to that one of these days lol

My girlfriend and I play Elder Scrolls Online, and I'll boot up the Dark Age of Camelot private server Eden from time to time.
