I’m not a dad, and I’m pretty heavily bought into SB&D’s Craftsman V20 ecosystem. Some of them are clearly discount DeWalt, especially the brushless tools.

Corded tools, I have no loyalty. My table saw and planer are DeWalt, my drill press and jointer are Wen, I’ve got a Kobalt router table, and so on.

Baby teeth last longer. What’s this bullshit about your first set of teeth lasts 5 to 10 years, then you’re supposed to make it 60+ on the only other set you get? I’d make baby teeth last about 20 years.

The french horn is the feelings guy in the horn section. The trumpet is often used to shout the main idea at the audience, and then the french horn lays back on the couch and tells us how that makes him feel.

I’m curious if you’ve ever held a guitar, or touched one as it was played? Acoustic guitars, especially when playing on the lower strings, vibrate quite a lot, sometimes it feels like a purring cat.

Aviation is already backwards; aviators give distance to travel in nautical miles, visibility in statute miles, altitude and runway length in feet, speed in knots, weight in pounds, volume in gallons, and temperature in celsius. My favorite is the standard adiabatic lapse rate is given as 2°C/1000 feet.

North Carolina spends its summers in the high 90’s and its winters in the high 20’s. We nearly never hit 0°F.

I miss the silver plastic era of AV equipment. Like in the mid-to-late 2000s when every TV was made of silver plastic, and it had that set of composite jacks under a flap on the front, so you could temporarily plug things in, like when your buddy brought his PS2 over. There was a button near the channel and volume buttons that switched between inputs, and it didn’t take a digital act of congress to figure out which setting would get it to display on the TV.

Now everything is a black rectangle with bullshit software and almost two HDMI ports in the back, except one has the sound bar plugged into it, and the labels are stamped into the black plastic and not painted on, and with the shadows behind the television you can’t read them. And it doesn’t work when plugged in anyway. Its easier to just not have friends so that you never have to plug other electronics in. Stare at your phones alone.

My personal TV is a Samsung commercial display unit; it isn’t Roku or Tizen or whatever else. It’s still very much a computer though, it still has a network port and keeps pestering about connecting to the internet and registering it and all that shit.

I drive it with a Raspberry Pi running Kodi.

Okay, here’s one: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Action Game. Not the SCUMM engine adventure game made by LucasArts, no I’m talking about the godawful action platformer that Tiertex smeared across every console and home computer of the early 90’s like shit across the handicap stall in the men’s room of a Ruby Tuesday. I knew it as the particularly heinous MS-DOS port but they put it on everything from the Commodore 64 to the Game Boy.

The controls are bad, the mechanics don’t make sense, the level design is bullshit, the enemy design and placement is unfair, the graphics are mediocre, the audio is bad to horrible depending on the port…it has no redeeming qualities.

I hope it’s obscure because lord it deserves to be forgotten. How do you take a white hot license like Indiana Jones and fuck it up so comprehensively?
