“A streaming service only has the second season of a show”
The “rival” streaming service that has the first season of the show is owned by the same corporation so it can double-dip viewers on subscription fees.
What they sometimes mean by “fast paced” is “we are going to have you doing many things that are not in your job description.” Basically, you’ll be doing the jobs of 3-4 people and some of those jobs will pose a significant risk to your health and safety.
The best time to hit someone in a fight is right when they’re taking their shirt off. They can’t see and their arms are stuck in their sleeves. If they’re going to make it easy for you, take advantage of it.
Of course it’s a mystery. An honest discussion about why orphan-crushing machines need to exist would lead to an honest discussion about where your society’s pain really comes from.
And the owner class doesn’t want that discussion to happen. Because it would come out that they don’t pay their fair share of the tax burden, which would keep orphan-crushing machines from existing in the first place.
This is what President Eisenhower was warning us about when he talked about the “military-industrial complex.” A series of forever wars that existed for no other reason than to benefit corporations and billionaires.
