Omega_Jimes, to memes in Elderly Politicians

Does the TikTok have access to your home wifi network?

Omega_Jimes, to lemmybewholesome in My face staring back at me

Unexpected age reminders are the worst part of the internet.

Omega_Jimes, to piracy in Is there an *arr service for video games?

This would really rely on having a very competent and trust worthy source, and in not sure if that exists for software the same way it does for movies/ TV shows.

Omega_Jimes, to linuxmemes in which ones do you think I missed?

I have a standing theory that once a person is no longer concerned about their welfare or the welfare of their descendants, they go crazy.

Like, once you reach a point where survival is no longer a problem, that part of your brain goes nuts. It’s not a flawless theory, since philanthropy is a thing and people like Dean Kamen exist, but it’s a thing that seems to happen an awful lot.

Omega_Jimes, to comicstrips in "Just Season It" by Mr.Lovenstein

Also don’t boil your vegetables. I was raised in boiled broccoli and sprouts, and steaming baskets changed my life!

Omega_Jimes, to linux in I'm Done With Windows, Are you?

I mean yes, but there’s way better exposure from online videos. Things like this 100% should have an accompanying post though.

Omega_Jimes, to linux in KDE's Nate Graham On X11 Being A Bad Platform & The Wayland Future

I love Wayland until I don’t. I honestly don’t think about it, it gets out of my way and my system is stable, until I go to use something like scrcpy that just doesn’t work at all. Luckily, the amount of things that straight up don’t work is shrinking.

Omega_Jimes, to asklemmy in What is a nifty little feature modern gadgets have lost?

Changing the channel on tvs in public spaces mostly.

Omega_Jimes, to risa in Can someone open this pickle jar?

Until Strange New World came out, Orville was my favorite Trek since TNG.

Omega_Jimes, to lotrmemes in They are not for eating

Somebody’s been reading old issues of Knight of the Dinner Table?

Omega_Jimes, to programmer_humor in Programming: The Horror Game

Yeah. Some folk use portable computers on top of their laps. It’s weird :/

Omega_Jimes, to piracy in Is it possible to still pirate Pearson books?

It’s a nightmare. I couldn’t find a method that worked so I ended up using an older PDF.

Omega_Jimes, to asklemmy in Why do people hate on mobile games, call them "not real games" and mock them, when some mobile-exclusive games are the best games I've played?

Who cares what other people think of you’re having fun?

Personally, I’ve never really had a good experience with mobile games. I keep trying, but the games I get recommended seem shallow, and I have a serious aversion to ads so that ruins most mobile experiences for me. The games I have enjoyed on mobile are mostly puzzle games, or clones and ports of games from other systems. But who cares what I think if you have fun. My partner spends way more time playing games on their phone than on PC or PS5. Different strokes, and all that.

Omega_Jimes, to piracy in If anybody in the USA is interested in a region-free blu-ray player

I stopped for a long time, but I’ve continued with the launches of things like Metalocalypse or Venture Bros. Smaller productions that I want to support but aren’t streaming in my country.

Heck, back when Metalocalypse released their first movie there was a limited edition version with a skull cup that was only available in Australia for some reason. I imported the set for my SO, and I had to rip the bluray myself :/

Omega_Jimes, to linux in Overheating laptop, should I try a lighweight distro - which one?

This should be done to any laptop after 4 years. A tube of paste only costs like $5, and it will have a massive difference.
