Patches,

While potentially true - that is not why the holes are missing.

They aren’t part of any spec.

That story is so old that the fisherman can no longer survive because his fish is undervalued, the water overfished, and polluted, the beach illegal to sleep on, and his property unaffordable.

Patches,

But couldn’t you just have the AC to DC converter between the cord and the tool?

Patches, (edited )

And they’re typically 100-150 wattage. You’re not going a whole lot with them.

Patches,

Well… was he right?

Patches, (edited )

Because AI is shit

Maybe I am a gorilla but every time I buy Ryobi - it breaks before the first job is done.

I got a Ryobi pressure washer and not even 2 hours into washing - it exploded like a fuckin bomb. Home Depot gave me a refund for the pressure washer but not my pants.

Patches,

The advantage is when you finally work in your own workshop, instead of on-site, you no longer have to rebuy everything.

I imagine the same as every single laptop in existence. A big brick that sits on the floor and a very long cord.

Why couldn’t that work?

Other tools are way more power hungry than a drill. Someone gave me a m12 Vacuum as a gift and it can’t run for more than 15 minutes on battery which makes it extremely limited. Inside a customer’s home that is all I need but at home it’d be great to run it as a dust collection for a table saw.

Patches, (edited )

I did but I’m still not convinced Harry was better off in Gryffindor

Patches,

In case you are not aware you can get Adapters for one battery system to another. They make Ryobi to DeWalt and then back again.

Obviously don’t use them with the chargers.

Patches,

Dam Spoilers dude. The episode just aired on April 25, 1988.

Give us some time to watch it.

Patches,

Because if they wrote that down then they would never be able to put on another Sony movie ever again. They would be out of business in short order.

Patches,

If ever they enact Universal Healthcare in America. What will become of Spiderman?

His origin story only makes sense because Peter can’t afford to go to hospital.

Patches,

Where do y’all find this elusive “Torque Spec”?

Even if I could afford a $100 click wrench. Where am I gonna lookup random bolt on whatever the hell I’m repairing?

Patches, (edited )

Chronically underpaid, underinsured, overworked, subjected to abuse…

They are all of these things but nobody cares, and the boss will fire you if you joke with customers about it.

Joking about Mariah Carey being shit ain’t getting anyone fired. Not even Mariah Carey’s assistant … Probably

Patches, (edited )

I think it’s the fact that people will openly write the exact same words as you do, and they won’t be joking. It won’t be satire. And there is no way to tell the difference even if they did look at your username - it just means “Anonymous”

Edit: See Poes Law. Guess I’m not first person to think about it.

Patches,

Which gift cards are those?

I’ve never heard of that being something you would purchase.

I could only see it existing if I had a $1.00 gift card to the dollar store. Because nothing costs a dollar at the dollar store anymore.

Patches, (edited )

That’s crazy. That sounds like it should not be legal.

Why not just require they spend $200 to use a gift card? That way the store either keeps the $50 gift card in cash on the books, or they make $250 in sales.

Patches, (edited )

And in places where the money doesn’t ‘expire’ because it’s illegal.

They charge a ‘Maintenance free’ of like $1/month every month until it is worth $0.

Tbf I am shocked they have not started charging overdraft fees on them because “Fuck consumers” is the American way.

Patches,

Why would it count as anything but income?

GoFundMe isn’t some magical charity. It’s just online begging.

Patches,

There are a significant number of people who won’t put it together, and call the bank.

The person who’s name is on the card - might not even have access to cancel the card. My mother’s identity was stolen like this - they opened many many credit cards, and she got a lot of absolute garbage in the mail for months. There was no one for her to call. She didn’t open them.

She locked her identify but it means about fuck all cause people kept opening cards anyways.
