Perfide, to asklemmy in Why do people hate on mobile games, call them "not real games" and mock them, when some mobile-exclusive games are the best games I've played?

the movements required for your fingers are moreorless that of your feet in real life skating.

Have you played Sessions? This is how it works in that game too, literally the only difference is your fingers are on analog sticks rather than on the sheet of glass that is your phone screen. The developers ended up including an alternative control scheme more similar to EA’s Skate series because of how intense the learning curve on their control scheme is.

but taking away the actual placement of fingers on the board onscreen would take away an awful lot of the reason people enjoy it

I guess this is where we just have to agree to disagree. I can’t think of any reason I’d find blocking part of my field of view as an enhancement to the experience.

The default control scheme for the game Sessions is using a controller with 1 foot per analog stick, so that’s covered. I think Skate XL has a control scheme like this too.

Poseidon is the God of water, I think he understands how dilution works. Peeing in the ocean? Basically didn’t do anything, essentially untraceable. Peeing in the pool? Nasty af, and easily(ish) detectable.

Where the fuck would that be a popular opinion?

Quick! You need to install a program, but you can’t remember the exact name of it. You have no browser installed nor a GUI package manager. What do you do?

Nah, that looks like a grandma. The white around her face looks more like a mask than a beard to me.

Perfide, to memes in I have never understood that.

I don’t even think it makes sense, since your skin senses it.

It makes sense when you learn that your skin doesn’t sense ambient temperature at all, but rather it senses the rate at which you are losing or gaining body heat. This is why metal can feel cold at room temperature while something like a blanket actually feels room temp, it’s a better heat conductor so it absorbs body heat from you faster.

Having more body mass means you produce more body heat at any given time, so the rate at which you lose body heat to the air is decreased, making you warmer.

You could almost say the evolving definition of factoid is in of itself an example of the original definition of a factoid.

How could a platypus be dastardly? They don’t do much.

I’m literally trying to have a productive conversation with you, dude. Nothing you’ve presented so far paints you as a conservative, so I want to know what your actual reasons for being one are. From there we could actually discuss things and maybe we could influence each others perspectives on matters, but we can’t do that if you get defensive the minute you’re asked questions.

Okay, how are you going to install a browser if you don’t know what to type? Sure, I know FF is Mozilla.Firefox, but not everyone does. And besides, I actually want Vivaldi(…only as an example) instead, which I don’t know the package name for. Without a pre-existing browser or external help, how am I supposed to install Vivaldi?

I’m not disagreeing there should be options on OS setup, firefox being pre-installed with no input is barely better than Edge being pre-installed, but no browser at all by default is just stupid for most people. If we’re going with the idea of options on setup, the no browser at all option should exist, but only if it’s behind at least 1 but preferably 2 “Are you absolutely sure?” confirmation checks.

Is vivaldi FOSS now?

No

Not sure how that’s relevant to my comment, but yeah.
