Every time I’ve ever owned a non gpu laptop, it’s like I’ve always had to bring along either another laptop or a gaming console when on longer term trips or temporary moves. I don’t care that gaming laptops are 0.2 inches thicker which somehow makes them 100% impractical to most people. I’d rather only have to bring 1 device with me.
Yesterday, I suddenly noticed that the “Return Youtube Dislike” extension wasn’t working, as in, I wasn’t seeing any dislikes. Is Youtube the cause of this? or this is just some random bug?
A home server is less expensive than YouTube Red. Download all their videos and periodically purchase new hard drives instead of giving YouTube a cent. Monthly fees are eating people alive. We have to be fighting back.
Today, for the first time, I couldn’t use iplayer. As usual, I switched country to UK, cleared browsing data, deleted everything from temp app data file before going there. Was using Firefox. Tried same procedure with Epic browser. Same result. Chatted with Nord support. They wanted screenshots of results from dnsleaktest dot...
I’ve exhausted things I can sleep to on Netflix, and it’s literally impossible to sleep to things on Prime (so I barely watch anything there; it’s not worth falling asleep to something I like, since I might be punished for it), so I’ve started putting on YouTube in the evenings since it won’t wake me with silence at...
I do laundry gauntlet too but a lot of my clothes are tattered and worn. Probably because I still wear a lot of the same clothes I was wearing 10 years ago though and less because of my laundry habits. I did finally retire my oldest jeans this year but the t shirts are still in good enough shape.
I just use systemctl because I know how to use it and know all the ins and outs of any bullshit I might encounter. No way I’m switching. I like not being stumped on issues I can’t fix for weeks.
In my experience, on Windows a lot of old stuff runs as long as you have whatever registry setting enabled that lets you run non 64 bit programs. This isn’t available on every windows pc but if you’re running it on your home pc, you can probably get it. A lot of old games don’t work but old things that don’t use graphics almost always run.
In wine, it’s basically the same story. A lot of old stuff runs especially non graphical old stuff. Some old windows games don’t work on wine but just because something old doesn’t work on Windows doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t work on wine and vice versa.
I would rate wine as slightly more compatible with late 90s and early 2000s games than Windows is but ymmv. Graphics stuff tends to work a little more often on wine. Some mid 2000s games use obscure hacks that are impossible to ever get running on wine.
Yep, posting something like this on lemmy.ml will get you banned for “trolling”. I tried to start a community similar to lemmy shitpost during that initial reddit flee and gave up after getting banned for trolling.
I would opt for the crossbow, machete and axe then use those to commendeer better equipment. Specifically that choice of weapons because axe is useful for chopping trees, machete is a weapon that doesn’t require ammo and it’s a lot easier to make crossbow arrows than bullets. Also take the night vision goggles in the off chance they’re the super high tech kind and not the ir lighting based kind because you’ll never just “find” one of those otherwise. Then use that stuff to basically steal everything on this list and more.
I’m helping a family member build a pc. He wanted to use Windows because “Linux can’t play games” despite me having a perfectly good gaming laptop running Linux that runs all my games, even graphically intensive ones....

[Rant] I swear to fucking god. Windows is harder to use than Linux. Have any of you ever USED Windows lately? Holy fuck.
