I’ve been distrohopping for a while now, and eventually I landed on Arch. Part of the reason I have stuck with it is I think I had a balanced introduction, since I was exposed to both praise and criticism. We often discuss our favorite distros, but I think it’s equally important to talk about the ones that didn’t quite hit...

Completely agree on both points. Canonical always acts against the spirit of open-source whenever they get the chance.

And while Arch is great, I prefer things that work out of the box.

No one really. I’ve tried a bunch but never found one that felt just right. Clementine is the one that gets the closest.

I really wish MusicBee had a Linux port, it’s the only thing I miss from Windows.

‘Diversity of tactics’ is really important to achieve a goal. If all you do is sign petitions, no one will take you seriously. And if all you do is violent demonstrations, you’re gonna get treated as a hooligan with nothing to say.

You need dialogue to raise awareness, and protests to raise the pressure on politicians.
