Samsy,

I was familiar with just organise my docker-compose containers without any frontend. But I discovered casaOS, which make things pretty simple. An AppStore and a SMB-Shared File manager gave me a really good workflow. Things that aren’t on the AppStore can be handled outside of Casa, too.

PS. But never make the mistake to integrate the outside handled containers, this mess things up.

Samsy,

If people really get triggered by this bullshit graph, let’s add Arch Linux which is on what? >200? >300?

Easy, I always mirror my cloud. My setting is: cloud is extern and in my network there is always the same copy of everything on a simple smb-nas.

  1. My house burns to the ground (or easier, the NAS is broken) = online backup
  2. The online provider got hacked = No problem, I have an backup at home.
  3. The hackers burned my house down at the same time they killed my cloud = Well fuck.

PS. Since the most syncs are going directly to the cloud its just an rclone cronjob every night to backup everything on the NAS.

TIL, docker has a snap package, and can’t stop laughing. What’s next? A flatpak or AppImage?

Samsy,

I saw this picture with a lot of jokes. I like the: “he is getting all the reported for wrong password - messages”

Anyway: Game of trunks?

Is there a forum for people who are lonely and sad but specifically not incel sickos?

like you know you’re a good person at heart but life circumstances and trauma and bullying and etc prevented you from learning the proper social skills to find companionship. not necessarily a forum to actually find friends (i find going into things with that intention feels fake and weird), but rather a forum to commiserate...

Samsy,

Calling some groups “incel sickos” sounds rude and hateful to me and is best practice for going to be a incel sicko. I don’t want to judge, just a friendly warning.

Against loneliness there are good advices already written. Just an addition: first, be respectful and love to yourself. Second, do the same for others.

A lot of depressed people think, that other people could repair their hearts, but that’s not true. You start by yourself, the rest comes automatic.

Samsy,

Cheap Pork is the best medicine. Eat it three times a day. It’s full of antibiotics. /s

Samsy,

I liked the sd-card feature, too. But nowadays my android has 128 GB and I never got more data than 25% on it. Because I sync and remove everything to the cloud. Idk what I could put on a sd-card.

Samsy,

I tried to set this up beside my existing mailcow server. Mailcow runs smooth and has a web interface. And I am not on my way to ditch it just for jmap.

Idk, what’s happening earlier:

1.dovecot integrates jmap (I would stay with mailcow) 2. More clients support jmap (eventually switch to stalwart) 3. Stalwart get an webinterface (eventually switch to stalwart)

Samsy,

Yes, I know, but since it’s open source, I don’t ask for release dates. :-)

Samsy,

YT Premium may not have ads, but they sell your data anyway.

Samsy,

Search for botfather.

It creates an API token and in combination with my own telegramID I get notifications from services like uptime-kuma or watchtower.

Samsy,

Remember, it’s a cloud messenger, not a secure messenger. It’s cool to have all chats on every device, but by default, they are unencrypted. I message there, too, but only nonsense.

Samsy,

Effective? Yes. Bullshit-free? Hell, noo.

Samsy,

It’s very effective for sysadmins if you want to get real time notifications about server stats. The possibility are endless because you could push everything with curl from commandline or cron. For example why not get informations about SSH login attempts or CPU usage or unattended upgrade logs?

Samsy,

Millennials are split into the older and the younger ones. I am one of the older ones, and I don’t know what the heck is going on with the younger ones.

Can GenX adopt me please?

Samsy,

TIL, I’m a xennial. Thx for sharing.

I used both, and my experience is, that mull has better privacy features but a lot of pages are broken. I go with fennec, because of that.
