MacOS gets much more fluid to use when you memorize the keyboard commands. Command+Shift+G in the Finder brings up a menu where you can type any path you want, including ~

If you’re gonna replace a worker with an AI, replacing the CEO gives you the most return on investment.

All the other services I have running are on a server in my closet, which I access with a web browser from other devices. Calibre needing to run on my workstation is a big shift in that workflow. Especially because all the rest of my media is sitting on that server.

Also, UX of open source desktop apps is… lacking. They don’t look good, and they don’t feel good to use. But that might be because I’m picky and spoiled by decades of using a Mac.

I definitely don’t want more Electron apps. About the only things I want to run locally is a browser, a text editor, and a terminal.

I tried that but you need a Calibre library first, and that requires using Calibre AFAIK

vnc-style web interface

That's still not what I'm looking for. What's wrong with good old HTML?

I would really love a version of Calibre that ran in a web browser instead of a desktop app

Do they need Plex accounts for that?

My kid likes to watch movies with their friends, and with streaming services this means they all need to have an account and start at the same time.

With Plex my kid can just share their screen and the video shows up fine.

I'm subscribed to a bunch of services through bundle packages with my phone and Internet and still pirate the shows I want because it's nice to have them all in one place and to know they won't be unavailable in the future.

Their giant brain bug might have found a way to use eggs launched to knock them through hyperspace used by humans.

They’ve got bugs that can shoot spaceships out of orbit with their butts. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think they could knock an asteroid out of orbit.

Though considering your username it might be you dropping the rocks.
