Skyrmir,

Classic gojo with pumice. Was like washing your hands with sharp wet gravel. Pretty sure it just removes the top layer of skin more than it cleans anything. Can’t be dirty if it’s gone.

Skyrmir,

Don’t worry about it, you’re washable. - Dad

I was a germaphobe kid, and my dad was a mechanic. Oil and grease horrified me until for some reason that quote just stuck with me.

Skyrmir,

Every few years I try Linux again. At this point I’ve decided that when I can install linux, and use all of my hardware/software without having to open a terminal window, I’ll try it again. Until then, I only use it when I’m paid to.

Skyrmir,

If I have to open a terminal just to get up and running, the UI has failed. If something that basic has failed, there are other much larger problems to deal with still. None of which I want to deal with.

Also I’ve spent 40 years working in various versions of dos and PowerShell interfaces, and there’s enough difference with all nix type interfaces that I don’t want to deal with swapping back and forth. I do that enough with the programming languages I use every day that it’s a constant annoyance.

Skyrmir,

Now I lay me down to sleep, the chaos take my soul to keep. If I should die, before I wake, the Lords of Chaos my vengeance to take.

Or Joe Pesci, he gets shit done.

Skyrmir,

The next most conservative generation is Gen X. All few dozen of us. Expect those with power to retain it with massive use of wealth to constrain the rules of democracy, rather than numbers of voters.

Skyrmir,

The best restaurants in the world are in London. Of course they don’t serve English food. The Brits just knew to bring the best stuff home.

Skyrmir,

I use it on the threads of plastic filter housings in my engine room. It’s keeps the salt water from seizing them.

Skyrmir,

It turns out the specialized medical needs are kind of special, and they fly people to where there are facilities when they’re needed. And only affects a special portion of the population. For everyone else it doesn’t matter.

For fuck sake people crossed the entire US in a god damn wagon while risking being shot at by random tribes and eaten by bears. What’s stopping people now is that they can’t afford food or a place to park the damn wagon without getting harassed by the cops.

Skyrmir,

Moving to more rural areas is what causes rural areas to build hospitals, and doctors to open clinics and offices. There are plenty of jobs everywhere that just involve sitting on your ass in front of a screen, or standing behind a counter. Even in rural areas.

Growth doesn’t just happen. People have to go places and build. UBI would make that process a shit ton easier.

Skyrmir,

There’s a reason union membership is increasing, and strikes are happening more and more often. That will keep happening until purchasing power is balanced out, or the populace is suppressed.

Skyrmir,

The indicators are all there for predicting a recession. The only question is if policy changes before then. There’s always a variance between prediction and reality.

Skyrmir,

That is usually the result from our current level of inequality. The other options run along the same lines.

Skyrmir,

Mandatory voting would include prisoners.

Skyrmir,

It’s easier to get a recording of a hawk that never shuts up. Eagles let out a screech too, but not often. Try stealing a fish from a bald eagle. Bring a tape recorder…and some bandages.

Skyrmir,

Guess why it’s not a law already.

Skyrmir,

Well yeah I’m gonna let him out hustle me. That bastards on crack.

Skyrmir,

I mean, i haven’t actually been to Japan myself, but I’ve heard some things…

Skyrmir,

The fringe on the right is going after contraception. And becoming less of a fringe by the day.
