Anything that ever includes Galaxy Quest is an immediate win from me. Doesn’t help I’ve seen the movie so many times (it’s a movie version of my weighted blanket) that I can vividly hear that ‘exploded’ line in my head.
Fuck you I’ve gotta turn the damn movie on again now.
They openly are defending a known extreme transphobe who supports TERFS and donates to them. They underplayed the transphobia. They suggested that being bigoted against trans folks is okay because they’re a small subset of the population. They said that others were wrong for saying that she’s a transphobe despite her transphobic behavior. By saying that, they have openly stated their opinion. They didn’t need to say anything more. If you defend a transphobe thats because you are a transphobe.
The only person here who is naive as fuck is you and I am not giving you another second of my time.
Wrong. I dunno why so many people falsely believe this. The Prime Directive applies to EVERY civilization. Not just pre-warp ones. By that logic, Picard wouldn’t have had a problem taking Wesley in that episode because those people had warp access.
I think you’ve considerably misunderstood what the Prime Directive is… It doesn’t just apply to unevolved people. It also applies to civilizations that have warp too.
Also literally no, that is not what it means and is an insane comparison.
Eh, it is what it is. Some people are just miserable assholes who want to inflict it on everyone else. Says everything about them and nothing about me. The fact that I’ve got trolls following me around and downvoting everyone of my comments or messaging everyone in a thread to lie about me is just proof I’m doing something right.
Well, the question still remains of “symbiotizing what”?
Life as a whole or the multiverse itself as you mentioned. The show made that pretty clear in saying that wherever the network goes, life goes, and if the network dies then life itself dies.
I had just assumed that since it peters out at the border of the galaxy that it ends there. And if it resumes in another galaxy, it seems like it would be discontinuous and thus a separate organism.
Well, in Season 1 we saw a bunch of the calculations and analyzing that was done of the network while they were jumping. The hyphae do seem to connect in a non-linear fashion if they’re able to connect with an alternate dimension. Lorca also did point out that the calculations were showing multiple universes. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it just sort of… bypasses intergalactic space somehow by folding in a way that’s not intuitive to us.
Also nah, don’t need to strike that out buddy. I’d give anything to be one too <3
COVID fucked over so much. I dunno how much of a surprise this is but I liked Supernatural and the ending that they went with was garbage. Although the producers have said that COVID didn’t impact the ending that heavily. I hope to fuck they’re lying because if that was a conscious decision then fuck 'em all.
The Galactica take got me rolling for some reason.
Babylon 5 and Galactica are the ones people have pushed me the hardest to watch. I’ve been meaning to but haven’t gotten around to it. Babylon 5 probably pushed harder on me because I don’t like DS9 and everyone keeps saying that B5 is DS9 but better. Just keep rewatching the same few things over and over again. Eventually I’ll get to it and hate myself for not having started it sooner.
Robert Meyer Burnett, Nitpicking Nerd, and Red Letter Media.
…This is not the take you thing it is lol
Red Letter Media
Ah yes. The self proclaimed racists who use ragebaiting as their primary method of getting people to watch their videos.
Nitpicking Nerd
Ah yes. The dude who openly uses his cynicism in his username and who constantly uses ragebaiting as well to get people to watch his videos.
Robert Meyer Burnett
Fucking who?
Like I said. Unless you are providing examples then I’m simply not taking you seriously. Your dismissal of it entirely and refusal to even attempt to defend your position means you simply don’t have a valid one.
I like the shows but that has nothing to do with this conversation. My liking of the show isn’t the reason why I’m expecting an unbiased/critical review. It’s simply because I have standards. Doesn’t matter if it is for Star Trek, Star Wars, or some show i’ve never even heard of. Anyone who’s going to inject their own emotional opinion into a review, and then refusal to even elaborate on position while doubling down, is someone whose opinion is just not worth the time to read to it.
