Anyone get anything good for the holidays? Cooking ingredients, equipment, books, etc?...

Decided to smoke a goose for Christmas. It was a big hit. We also got about 4 cups of smoked goose fat out of it....

Fantastic dish. I made this tonight. Oddly enough I never had this dish growing up. I subbed in daikon for the potato since we had it on hand....

I love bridges. If I see a cool looking bridge, I want to cross it, especially if it goes somewhere that I’m not familiar with. Same with stairs outdoors. They feel like an adventure to me.

My wife and I rarely cook turkey for Thanksgiving. This year we’re coming Cornish hens. In previous years we’ve cooked duck, leg of lamb, and rib roast. It’s not that we don’t like turkey, but there are lots of other things that I think I’d prefer eating....

I really love the idea of reducing single use plastics in my life. What have you done to successfully reduce or eliminate it?...

When I travel, I try to taste the local cuisine and love to try things that I’ve never had before. Recently I tried haggis, which was outstanding. I’ve also had hakarl (fermented shark - not really my cup of tea, but glad I tried it) and balut (surprisingly tasty)....

I’ve been kind of curious about these for a while now. I have several teflon coated pans, but they’re not so great for high heat applications, and the coating wears off after a while....

What are some of your favorite out of the ordinary names from history, religion, or fiction? Could be the name of a person, animal, place, etc....
