TheGrandNagus, to linux in GNOME Recognized as Public Interest Infrastructure

They’ve been trying to make a cross-desktop standard for a little while now, but progress is certainly slow :/

TheGrandNagus, to linux in What has been your experience with Flatpak?

Flatpaks have been amazing for me.

My home directory is a lot cleaner, dependency issues are a thing of the past, it’s easier on the developers, I’m getting updates faster (not having to rely on distro maintainers), my installs are more portable than before.

I wish we had Android-like permission setting, where it pops up asking if each program can use X permission as it requests it.

And I wish Gnome settings would implement some of the more basic flatseal options (flatseal can still exist for power users), although that one isn’t a shortcoming of flatpaks itself, it’s more to do with development manpower on the Gnome side.

Overall I’m really glad that one of the biggest annoyances in Linux is getting resolved. We’ve finally pretty much agreed on an app distribution and packaging standard

Considering it uses day then month, 24hr clock, and distance in km, I’m guessing the reason why it’s not “human readable in American” is because it’s intended to be “human readable for pretty much everybody else”

The date format isn’t incorrect at all

I was surprised to find out recently that in the US, they dubbed over the British English in bob the builder with American English.

TheGrandNagus, to linux in KDE Plasma 5.27.10, Bugfix Release for December

Don’t upgrade then.

I for one am looking forward to it. They seem to be fixing a lot of issues that I currently have with Plasma that prevents me from using it.

TheGrandNagus, to linux in Windows 11 scores dead last in gaming performance tests against 3 Linux gaming distros

It’s in the early stages, but yeah you can do it in KDE Plasma if you’re prepared to jump through a couple of hoops (basically doing the same thing the Deck does)

Linux won’t have proper HDR support until mid-late next year.

TheGrandNagus, to linux in What are people daily driving these days?

Fedora Workstation. Couldn’t be happier.

I don’t know shit about coffee, so I’m assuming you mean you make your coffee with a mid-size Volvo estate car. Pretty impressive.

The second-newest is my favourite logo, but it makes sense to have a shared design language between Firefox and Thunderbird.

This but unironically. It’s a very good thing.

TheGrandNagus, (edited ) to linux in GNOME Sees Progress On Variable Refresh Rate Setting, Adding Battery Charge Control

Great. I heard there was a cursor flickering issue under some niche scenarios, due to the cursor and the content’s framerates becoming out of sync with one another after exiting some full screen apps, that was previously preventing the merge of this feature.

I’m assuming it’s been solved?

The “Preserve battery healthy by keeping charge between 20% and 80%” is a nice option too

No issues here. I’m against mutilating the genitals of babies, like a normal person.

The people who have serious issues are the ones who get happy at the thought of taking a newborn baby and slicing part of their dick off. They are brainwashed.

You’ll notice I said it’s good that he likes his circumcision. Just that it should’ve been done as an adult, with consent. Not forced on him as a baby.

I’m sorry that you view cutting off parts of babies’ dicks to be a great cause worthy of championing. That’s pretty sad. That cutting off parts of babies in a needless procedure that frequently goes wrong is something that gets your mutilated dick hard.

And yeah, being pro baby mutilation is something that a monster would like. Unironically, to mutilate the genitalia of babies is something we should view as being the actions of a monster. But religion drives people to do crazy things.

Hahahaha most women absolutely do not find normal, un-mutilated dicks to be ugly. Quit making shit up.

I’m really sorry you got mutilated as a baby. Genuinely. Hope the scarring isn’t too bad and you were one of the lucky majority who don’t get a botched circumcision. But you need to get over this insecurity about your dick.
