Touching_Grass, to asklemmy in What are some RSS feed clients that do not have a subscription

The reason I’m asking is I’m trying to be more aware of supporting that type of stuff online. I don’t want to give money to any companies that put features behind behind ads or subscriptions. The end result will always be squeezing the consumer. So I’d like to avoid it if possible

Ideally for me I’d like to have a one time payment or free with donation option. But subscriptions, even with free tier just contributes to the shit net

Touching_Grass, (edited ) to movies in The first trailer for the next Ghostbusters film will arrive online tomorrow (8th Nov).

So pumped for this. A Ghostbuster Stranger Things crossover is going to be wild.

Haha I went through a phase where I made OG stuff and got shit on for it. I got a new perspective getting shit on by meme/content gatekeepers even though they never made jack shit. Like film critics

I fucking bet its really a chance for egotistical people to be able to put a names on things without having to discover new things.

That’s kind of what I mean. If the political parties were actual partys. The right would be a backyard with a keg, axe throwing and live band with fireworks and strippers. The left would be a book reading in a damp living room where the the host served canned mini sausages and everybody wore wool sweaters.

But isn’t it amazing the right was able to convey all that with “fake news” the left always makes it sound like the right are a bunch of morons never realizing it was all well crafted.

Should do the same for the homophobic idiot that goes to walmarts to yell at employees about lgqtb clothing.

Turn him into an ally in meme form. What’s he going to do?

Marriage is about my happiness and according to AITA and TwoXChromosome my husband is a toxic spouse and I need to leave him, force my kids into poverty and go out there and just be happy without those lead balloons. Marriage over do it now

Touching_Grass, (edited ) to asklemmy in What are some channels or creators that do science/engineering experiments?

How the monetization of content, even in cases where the content is good and I enjoy the creator, leads to a loss of freedoms online by contributing to laws and tools used to force other creators out of spaces and restrict access to content the was open and free in the past like archival sites. Contributing to a worsening of online services and experience for all over time. And as the generation that are early adopters we are doing a disservice to future generations by not shoring up the things that make being online great and instead allowing it to become a billboard like a NASCAR fender while “look how this bridge is created, like and subscribe” plays in the background

Touching_Grass, to asklemmy in What's the purpose of strategy statements and other "corporate plans" in office culture

I meant more like abstract business phrasing that is stuff like ‘aligns with lean principals’ or ‘improve efficiencies through cost driven metrics’ stuff that sounds like a high school essay written by a student adding as much fluff to every sentence and ending up with whole sentences that didn’t need to be said.
