UnRelatedBurner,

idk how people do this.

  1. I try using linux.
  2. I try playing games.
  3. it says “bad platform” and closes. like what do you do? force the emulation harder?
UnRelatedBurner, (edited )

yeah, you’re right. The magic for me is when you dealt so much with this that you just know common errors (like reading java errors). And the bad part is when the google it part doesn’t work.

like recently I figured out that my mouse sends different packets wired and wireless. long story short wireless works bad. And I only found one source, that led to another([1], [2], [3]) but got to lazy caz I just plug my mouse in and the problem is gone, lol

UnRelatedBurner,

Oh wow, I feel for you. I bet when u did solve it it felt wonderful. That’s the high I’m chasing with software at least.

also side note, as I feel like this thread is over: DANG I love this platform. I’m not even alive for 20 years and your not the first guy on here who gives me free advice from 20+ years of experience. This shit is pure gold for someone who wants to learn. And it’s not even like I’m here to use people, I stayed because how kind and helpful everyone is.

Anyone who reads this in the future, you’re the good side of the internet. I’m showing some threads to my friends from time to time and if it’s more then 3 sentences they’re like “ah, wall of text, I ain readin allat”.

UnRelatedBurner,

I was like “I’m not that good at spotting… wait a minute”

UnRelatedBurner,

I see what you did there, but fyi I’m from middle Europe

UnRelatedBurner,

he did tho, and I agree

UnRelatedBurner, (edited )

Every single European stereotype is true.

UnRelatedBurner,

can you fill me in on why it’s so bad? All I (a normie) know about it is it’s preview is not always available

Follow-up for surround sound config.

well it’s less about surround and more about sinks in general. I have 3 hardware sinks. My headphones, my monitor and my mic for some reason has a headphone jack. When I pick the virtual surround sink as default it works perfectly. However the device I’m hearing the sounds from is uncontrollable. It likes to choose my...

How do I get virtual sorround sound working?

You have heard the story “I have moved to Linux (arch btw).”, well… this is also my story. Anyways I have problems with my headset’s virtual surround. I realized that almost all of the drivers are just simply not working on Linux, but also that there are a bunch of alternatives. I have a HyperX cloud 2 (it was cheap),...

UnRelatedBurner,

I mean when i switched from stereo to surround it was like a whole new chapter. I got pseudo wallhacks I’m never going back. But I agree it’d be pretty silly to play RTS or city builders with it. Anyways thanks for the lead!

UnRelatedBurner,

Alright, thanks for the lead, will try what it’s saying but atm I have no idea what HRIR Convolver or SOFA Spatializer is

UnRelatedBurner, (edited )

Lots of links and names. I think I know how I’m spending my afternoon. Thanks!

UnRelatedBurner,

I’ll do this too, I’m just going insane atm from pipewire.

UnRelatedBurner,

I managed to get it working, I just can’t control where the sound actually is coming from. I have to set my default sink to the new surround, so it just picks one random device that’s connected it’d seem. How can I tell it where to play my audio back?

Xenia wouldn't suggest that :c (lemmy.world)

please don’t harrass or insult that website, but I recently browsed that website because I wanted to get a wallpaper, but then I realized the top bar was saying “Xenia suggests you get Firefox”, wait what?? She wouldn’t suggest that first of all, second, this means that the website knows if you are using Google or...

UnRelatedBurner, (edited )

Same, except when it’s a cheap indie

UnRelatedBurner,

You are right, not even arguing this. But I ment like the ratio then. Caz I feel like it’d make more people pay, but you can’t unteach the masses of how easy it is to pirate, so the damage might be permanent.

UnRelatedBurner,

Have you seen the movies? The only sane person who messed with quantum stuff is the camera man, and he never speaks of anything.

UnRelatedBurner,

You are right, I was thinking about randos. When I pub torrent an agent can just log all the IPs and I’m fked, when it’s private it should be free of these people. I get that it probably isn’t but, nothing is perfect.

UnRelatedBurner, (edited )

private all the way, only public Torrent that I seed is the Arch ISO.

imo it offers better security, anonimity, and possibly acts as a dummy filter, as uploads get checked. I also like my rank that I get when I’m actively seeding a bunch c:

UnRelatedBurner,

oh so you like algorithms, name all of them!

UnRelatedBurner,

I’m still waiting for them to be documented
