Not sure you should even be allowed to advertise legal things except in very specific cases. It’s an incredibly toxic industry that is doing a shitload of the heavy lifting of corporations destroying the world…
I got into an argument in the main Technology community a couple weeks or so back and while I admit that it got too heated so that both of us broke the “be excellent to each other” rule, I still feel that an immediate 3-day ban with no warning or notification (I had to check the modlog to find out why I suddenly couldn’t comment there) in a group where I’d never broken the rules before was ridiculous.
Didn’t help any that the mod almost immediately unbanned the other guy who had been equally unexcellent during the exchange and initially got the same ban and left mine in place…
I use NewPipe on my android phone and SmartTube (previously called SmartTubeNext) on my android tv.
Both are super simple to install and use and neither suffer from the extreme lag that federated frontends like Piped, Invidious and LibreTube often do…
Personally how the app looks isn’t much of a priority unless it’s so bad that it hurts usability and maybe 7/10 times I tried to play a video in Libretube it would either hang for at least a minute or fail to play at all.
That’s just not an acceptable tradeoff for looking slightly better than NextPipe that’s near-flawless on my phone and SmartTube that’s near-flawless on my tv, neither of which is bad-looking IMO 🤷
I used Vanced and tried ReVanced after that. The app patches would fail even though I made sure that all settings and other conditions were exactly as the setup and troubleshooting guides recommended and eventually I just gave up trying.
With NewPipe and SmartTube, all of the things the OP and you mentioned just work out of the box and changing features and other settings is as easy as in for example Firefox…

Needs an elaborate by github standards workaround to work on android? I think I’ll just continue to avoid sites whose paywalls archive.ph and 12foot can’t defeat…
Completely agreed on the first point, but unfortunately the latter isn’t always the case.
It’s become almost the norm for both individuals and companies to achieve ridiculous levels of success through abusive cunning in spite of a near-total lack of expertise and effort compared to competitors and coworkers.
Technically, neither of the skills mentioned are necessary for the job of making unreasonable demands and berating workers for exercising their rights 🤷
Didn’t you hear? They stopped the roof knocking policy they’ve been pretending makes them the good ones, dropping all pretense that they care about civilian lives any more than Hamas and Hezbollah do.
According to most lore, people become ghosts when they die having some major unfinished business. That’s something that most people (and ghosts) would consider regrettable. Also, ghost are mostly depicted as not bound by gravity.
Meanwhile, bird has done or otherwise experienced regrettable things and is a bird.
