I agree with everything you just said but I don’t think either big US party can be reformed to serve people instead of capital. Whichever organizing done by people, through the the voting system or otherwise, will fall flat if allowed to be co-opted by them, the two party system ensures it.
I think cause and effect are mixed here. Americans having to pick between two shitty right wing parties is the reason why one would feel like every election is the most important election. The fact that they’re so much alike is the biggest reason why they create as much dissent as possible.
Philo Farnsworth invented the television, as well as making significant contributions to microscopy, medical procedures and nuclear fusion. He had to fight legal battles throughout his career because of patent fuckery, and never saw the fruits of his labor. His research was constantly underfunded and he died of alcoholism in relative obscurity.
I might have expressed myself wrong, it’s not that there aren’t Mexican food places at all, it’s that they’re much more rare than in the west (and the US specifically), and usually not great.
Plus, 30+ restaurants in a city as gigantic as Tokyo is not much at all.
