aulin,

What’s up with the water level in that toilet? That’s insanely high!

aulin,

I knew about it because of Jacksfilms. It makes no sense though. It’s got both the same number of syllables and letters. Jim and Dick make sense to me (and are also the only ones of these I feel like people know about in general.)

aulin,

I have mostly Black and Decker. Out of those four, it’s a shame only DeWalt looks nice. That’s probably what I’d go for based on looks and reputation. Otherwise Hilti is what seems to be recommended the most.

aulin,

Ahaha! I see what you did there.

^(It’s just unfortunate that his name is actually Pettson.)

aulin,

The what now? I haven’t seen those since the early '90s.

aulin,

64-68 °F is fairly standard here. No more than 68. (18-20 °C)

aulin,

15-20 °C is ideal for me. Above 22-23 it starts being too warm. Below 10 I have to start wearing a sweater, which I dislike.

aulin,

I agree with all of this, except I’d say good riddance to the silver plastic. 😅

aulin,

people buy a new phone often enough nowadays that battery wear is not as much of an issue

battery wear is part of the reason people trash their otherwise working phones. People buying phones more often is a symptom of not having right to repair.

Also, buying an extra battery and charger meant you could carry a fully charged battery in your pocket and if you were out hiking or something, you could just swap batteries instead of needing a power bank and a whole bunch of charging time.

aulin,

Also just to transfer pictures to a laptop for editing and to clear space for taking more pics on the phone. I know cloud exists, but I want to control my own data.

aulin,

Oh yeah, we just forgot. Because everyone loves adding a dongle between phone and cable.

aulin,

I mean when phones had 3.5 mm jacks, the DAC was built-in.

aulin,

They’re just as easy to hold either way though.

aulin,

That’s true, but I find it just as difficult to access those features onehanded in vertical orientation, so I either do those twohanded before shooting, or I struggle about as much to reach them in either orientation.

aulin, (edited )

I don’t know. If I balance the phone on my pinky, with the index finger on top and ring- and middle finger behind, it sits very solidly. My thumb is then free to tap the shutter button.

aulin,

It’s staying up until January 13th as it’s supposed to.

aulin,

Was it Mob Rule? I didn’t play it enough to remember specifics, but it was from that era and had a distinct, blobby character design.

aulin,

I’ve used Startpage for a year or more on my main computer and it works okay.

But if anyone has any tips for a search engine that actually supports queries with boolean logic and such, I’d be all for it. Lately they all seem to just not do that anymore.

I vastly prefer a search engine in the EU, that respects the privacy laws here.

aulin,

But LTT-Linus is 17 years younger and Canadian. O_O

aulin,

Anyone else always read it as chick-fillah? It’s such a stupid spelling.

aulin,

I mean room temperature is 20 °C (68 °F) so wearing shorts and T-shirt should be the norm imo. If it isn’t colder outside than inside, why put on more clothes?

aulin,

We can still easily wear shorts at least part way into October in Denmark. It’s a great place to live. I do hate the rain though.

aulin,

Wind is a factor too

True

also if it’s 20c inside imma be cold.

Seriously? I’ve seen people go to 18 °C on the thermostat but not above 20. Are you from a super hot place?

aulin, (edited )

Believe it or not, I’m also from Sweden, and most people I know have it set to 19-20, and one guy 18. I’ve never seen 23(!) I can’t believe they’re native Swedes.
