bionicjoey,

I fucking hate bad-faith questions like this. OP doesn’t care about an answer, they are just ranting.

bionicjoey,

I had a blackberry bold which was sorta in between smart and dumb. My last actual dumb phone was an LG rumor, which was one of those with the full querty slide-out keyboard

bionicjoey,

I swear, Bojack has ruined me. I can’t read the phrase “let’s find out!” And not hear it in Paul F. Thompkins’ voice

bionicjoey,

Shoutout to project Gutenberg as well. It’s a massive free archive of books that are in the public domain.

What hobbies help you minimize or avoid navigating commercialism?

By commercialism, I’m aiming at a mix of spending a lot and sifting through bloated business models (e.g. this or that accessory/equipment, microtransactions, etc.). Feel like many can relate to this sort of commercial fatigue, and yet it creeps even into hobbies where one tries to unwind....

bionicjoey,

Just be careful to learn card magic and not magic cards. Because one of those is not good for minimizing your consumption haha

bionicjoey, (edited )

What about “dads are protective of their daughters”?

Edit: better yet, “parents are protective of their children”

bionicjoey,

Okay, and this is a comic strip, not an instruction manual

What's your favorite compilation album?

I’ve been really enjoying the Red Hot Organization’s “No Alternative” and “Dark was the Night” recently, both because they raised a lot of money for AIDS research and because they do a great job of capturing the 90s alternative sound and 00s indie sound respectively, and it’s got me thinking how much I love...

bionicjoey,

GPB is such an underrated movie. Banger soundtrack, great action sequences, funny jokes, Minnie Driver, Joan Cusack, Dan Ackroyd… It’s got everything!

bionicjoey,

Like a blind man at an orgy, I would have to feel my way through.

bionicjoey,

Ngl those padded rooms seem like they’d be fun. Like a bouncy castle

bionicjoey,

“Thank God Voyager’s writing was so inconsistent!”

-Me, a BSG fan

bionicjoey,

I did it one year on Reddit and got a really cool bottle opener. It arrived in a package with Danish/Greenlandic postage and the handle of the bottle opener appears to be made of whalebone carved in some sort of Inuit style.

bionicjoey,

I’m surprised you put shell so high when it tends to be less impactful in my experience. Like I care a lot more if my distro is using GNOME instead of KDE a lot more than if it’s using bash instead of zsh. Plus it’s easy to install and use a different shell

bionicjoey,

Okay but unless you are spending a lot of time in the command line, one (POSIX compliant) shell is as good as another. Like yes every distro needs a shell, but I don’t much care which shell it is.

bionicjoey,

That’s funny since you can change the tip at any time even after the delivery. Plus doesn’t it go against the whole concept of a tip to decide how much to pay before services are rendered?

bionicjoey,

Plus the other two look a bit off-center

bionicjoey,

Voyager can’t talk shit because it runs on lab-grown living brain tissue

bionicjoey,

“It’s a chain I beat you with until you understand who’s in ruttin’ command here”
