Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but home assistant is currently struggling with this and is processing everything on your local box because it can’t do wakewords on the device.
What’s the best tool to map points? I walk my dog and would love to quickly drop a pin for a sewer grate or fire hydrant? Is there something I can do mobile?

Eh, you can quickly create a new division/bureau/area and hire for the new roll and when it doesn’t work out you can fire easily. That ain’t possible within government where everything is governed by statue or rule
