canthidium, to movies in Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio Set For New ‘Karate Kid’ Movie

Haha, yes, definitely +1 for that.

canthidium, to movies in [DISCUSSION] [SPOILERS] - THE KILLER - Michael Fassbender, Tilda Swinton, Charles Parnell - Dir. by David Fincher
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

I watched it a few days ago and really enjoyed it. But I can see how some might not. I don’t want to give away much but it can come off as “what was the point?” after watching, but IMO, that’s the point. Fassbender’s character is not exactly a reliable narrator. If you look at him as having a higher opinion of himself and his skills than who he actually is, it makes sense. That said, I think if you are a Fincher can already, you’ll enjoy it. There’s an amazing, brutal, fight scene that is almost worth the viewing alone.

Lol, I’m the opposite. Love mushrooms but not a big fan of kale.

canthidium, to cooking in [DISCUSSION] What's the pickiest you have seen someone be?
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Oh no, I loooove soup. I’ve been fighting off a cough for the past month and have been eating so much soup and just drinking broth. Chicken broth with a splash of soy sauce is delicious, lol.

@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

It basically tastes like deviled eggs for the most part, but you get the texture of potatoes, both mashed and chunks, as well.

Oh yes, I always scoop some into a bowl and then add a little more paprika and pepper on top.

I mean that’s what you said, which just seemed the contradict what was said in the story, …

But it doesn’t, though. The article says the details will likely emerge. Again, that doesn’t mean announced or released by SAG-AFTRA. The writer of the article is not a spokesperson for SAG-AFTRA.

, so I mentioned that in the hope that you would elaborate on that, by either saying you’re incorrect, or that the story was incorrect for some reason.

Exactly, you’re looking to win an argument. Neither what I said nor the article are incorrect. They are different statements.

canthidium, to movies in Lift | Official Trailer | Netflix - Kevin Hart, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D'Onofrio
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t get it either. And it’s like they weren’t paying any attention to anything said or who was commenting at all. Oh well. I tried to be patient but they just kept going and earned a community ban. And then kept going and got a 7 day instance ban. And then kept going and now they are permabanned. A total shit fit is right!

It’s just you. I’m guessing you’re in the age bracket where these movies are being marketed to you.

This was your statement I replied to. You’re making quite a few nonsense assumptions about me in that statement.

Oh, I didn’t check the math, but that’s even funnier.

I did read that they regretted using sirloin because it doesn’t have the same effect, but I do kinda wish they had done something other than ram-don. I mean, just call it instant noodles. I feel like most English speaking audiences would understand that, probably moreso than even Ramen or Udon, and especially making up a word.

I really wish they would just put a note in more often. I find it interesting and you learn a little about the culture when they show little jokes or sayings unique to them.

canthidium, to cooking in FEEDBACK WANTED: Interest in doing weekly themed discussion posts.
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Although I think there are times throughout the week when someone might want to post a question on a Thursday but can’t because it’s not the correct day of the week.

Agreed, I don’t think there’s any benefit to forcing questions in the weekly one. If you have a question, please make a post. The weekly posts would be more of a prompt to stir up an idea.

I think themed days for techniques, methods and practices of cooking would be fun.

Yes, meal prep would be a great one. I know a lot of the meals I cook end up basically being meal prep since I have leftovers for days.

Thanks for the feedback!
